Glacier Canyon vs Sundara Canyon?
What is good and bad about both?
Which is better for families?

Sundara is far enough from the water parks that you will have to take the shuttle. That wouldn't be particularly convenient with kids and going back and forth for lunch, naps etc. Also Sundara is meant to be an adult resort. If I remember correctly kids aren't allowed in the pool or spa at Sundara. I know someone who was recently at Sundara with her adult daughter and she really wants to go back. Now I want to add a night or two at Sundara for just my husband and I after our son, his wife and their two little girls leave from our stay at Glacier Canyon this summer. Or depending on what I can find maybe we could go a day or two early before they get there.

Glad to hear you are coming back, have to give you more Restaurant suggestions

I'm pretty sure Sundara is "Adults Only" If you can be on the end by the water parks in Glacier Canyon (by door D?), you're 5-10 min walk from everything. It is great.
They also shuttle anywhere on property, including restaurants and the sister little resort across the lake. We go to Glacier Canyon X1-X2 a year with a group and it is always fun. Either part you stay in, take kids to the Duck Race in Klondike Kavern in the morning, it is a blast and they get a free rubber duck. :)

Glacier Canyon is best for families. Close proximity to water parks. Downside is noisy kids in the halls if you’re on a corridor floor.

Sundara has very limited availability - there only seven rooms available to Wyndham. They are either two bedroom or three bedroom Presidential units. Sundara allows access to the water parks at Wilderness for all staying at the cottage, and it allows access to the Sundara Spa for those 18 and older. Rooms are high cost compared to Glacier Canyon. It’s a two mile drive to the water parks.

We enjoy Sundara now that are kids are adults. It was a pain when they were underage.
