I am planning a girls weekend to San Francisco in mid January. There are 6 of us 40 something women going. Any suggestions on places to stay. We will be there Fri Sat night and plan to do dinner and an show (Beach Blanket Babylon) on Sat night. Would like a suite for all of us or 2 adjoining rooms. Input in appreciated.

Thanks

Are you looking for a timeshare or hotel? We were able to stay in a 2 bedroom at the Wyndham Canterbury for a few nights last year and it was very nice. Might be hard to get a 2 bedroom there, though. If you are looking for a hotel, we spent 3 nights last year at the Inn on Union Square..a small, reasonably priced, very nice hotel in a great location.

Loved it!

San Francisco Mid-January

FYI - In case you would be interested in staying at the Wyndham Canterbury at San Francisco - a 2 bedroom/2 bath Presidential unit (w/sleep sofa) is currently available there for the nights of Jan. 13 & 14. I won't be able to check on availability for the nights of Jan. 20 & 21, until later this week.

Just back from a SF GF weekend

Only 2 of us in a hotel room as our other gf lives in Oakland. Stayed at the Grand Hyatt on Union Sq. Rooms are newly renovated and have 2 double beds with connecting rooms so that configuration works great for sharing. Nice cocktail lounge on the 36th floor with reasonably priced bar menu and fabulous views.

We stayed 4 nites. Cable cars were not overly crowded on Fri. Did a wine country day trip with Great Pacific Tour Co on Sat and highly recommend this tour company. A friend I met via CruiseCritic took us to Chinatown for dimsum on Sun. then we headed to Fisherman's Wharf & Pier 39 hoping to take a harbor cruise but it was Fleet week and the gorgeous weather had everybody down there. That evening went to a performance that was part of the SFJazz festival.

We had a great time. Don't eat at Sinbad's near the Ferry Building. Plouf is a great little place on an alley that is reminiscent of Europe.

Read reviews on TA. Consider buying a MuniPass since 6 are hard to accomodate in one taxi. It's easy to navigate SF using public transportation.

Have fun planning!

I would think for such a quick weekend girls trip than any accommodations will suffice. Try Priceline's name your own price for good results in the neighborhood you'd like to be in.

For such a quick weekend trip, you aren't going to require a kitchen and many San Francisco boutique hotels feature continental breakfasts and afternoon wine receptions. Just go with the best price and you're sure to have an entertaining weekend.

lol I remember staying at the Canterbury hotel for a conference around 2000. Also remember staying at the Julianna Hotel I think that is now a Wyndam timeshare.
