It seems many like the extra details. Is there any way to make that column on the left wider? It seems that there are a lot of line breaks which cause for more scrolling. Most posts have so much "whitespace" after the text that seems unnecessary. I guess it may be different depending on one's monitor size.

This is kind of what I am referring to. If the sidebar were just an inch wider, it would remove two lines. If we didn't have points and reaction score (I don't even understand what those are really for), then it would clear up an additional two. For people with copious amounts of resorts owned, it would make it even shorter. A wider column might also make "TUG Review Crew Expert" show on only a single line as well as the "TUG Lifetime Member" be on its own line. Spread that out over the 25 posts to a page and it could make a difference.

have to do a lot of scrolling in the forums
In the year 2525, scrolling and paging on the WWW is not a flaw. It is a feature. Tiny fonts & white space are fashionable. Paging is raging, I guess it is due to the growing % of people using cellphones. Websites that didn't have tiny enough fonts and had insufficient white space get recoded to require more paging.

I notice that I have to do a lot of scrolling in the forums. I think this is mainly because of a lot of profile information about users showing up under their avatar and username in the forum threads. Do we really need all that stuff there? Do I care what their Reaction Score is? What about Points? These can be seen by clicking on the blue user name. It also seems like the main culprit is the list of resorts owned. I know my list is growing but many people list dozens of resorts and with that sidebar being so narrow, it can make for a very long list and a lot of blank space between posts. I know that resort names can be handy when someone asks a question and knowing the resort helps with the answer, but it is still all available by going into a user's profile. Any thoughts on removing some of that fluff?
On my phone I don't see the profile fluff.

I happen to like seeing it. As Denise said, it tells me something about the poster. Helpful knowing who's a newbie, who's a long time member, and who is only here for the boiled pizza.

well that was easy!

though for me i guess ive never noticed and most "posts" take up more room vertically than the member info box does!

Yea, maybe it's my setup, but I usually see that the posts have content, signatures, quotes etc and take up more room that the member info box for me too. I also have a pretty wide screen, being 4k.

EDIT: and even this post - the blocking so it's easy to see post breaks is nice enough for me. I guess I just still don't actually see a huge problem here.

I think it may depend on the user and how much they have in their signature. Some people put their life story in their signature, other's don't have one at all.

Thanks. It looks a little cleaner now too.

its a set width in pixels (was 120, now its 150)...so unless there is a way you have adjusted the font on your screen to a larger size im at a loss.

all i did was up the setting in 10px increments until the titles and such were all on one line.

Not that big a deal I suppose. I am sure there are some other TUG Review Crew labels that are wider than "Expert" that will also flow to a second line. Can't adjust for them all.

What do you mean “points”?
I think @TUGBrian may have removed it, here it is on my "before" screen shot. I think it is Trophy Points. Points you get for meeting certain milestones on the forums.

Whoa here’s a screen shot I took of the screenshot you posted.

In your screenshot, you have “points”
But in my view of your screenshot (which I screenshotted and attached), I only seen the “points“ in your screenshot but not your post.

My mind is blown. We are each living in different TUG realities it seems.

lol, all those things on the left are exposed/hidden within xenforo...and there are many more! I figured reaction score and trophy points were very much close to one in the same so i hid points...but can put it back if people really want that displayed!

I kind of liked reaction score as it is directly tied to how many people "like" your posts!

Anyone else expect this to be about weight loss?
Well duh - I thought this was in the lounge. The topic and title make sense given it is in the About TUG forum
