I notice that I have to do a lot of scrolling in the forums. I think this is mainly because of a lot of profile information about users showing up under their avatar and username in the forum threads. Do we really need all that stuff there? Do I care what their Reaction Score is? What about Points? These can be seen by clicking on the blue user name. It also seems like the main culprit is the list of resorts owned. I know my list is growing but many people list dozens of resorts and with that sidebar being so narrow, it can make for a very long list and a lot of blank space between posts. I know that resort names can be handy when someone asks a question and knowing the resort helps with the answer, but it is still all available by going into a user's profile. Any thoughts on removing some of that fluff?

I like the fluff - it provides a lot of info about the poster.

I used to see resorts owned and I think “upcoming trips”. Also something else that escapes me now.Haven’t seen any of it for some time. Oh, I think it was where the member lived.

It's at the bottom of the box below your username.

Unless it is a new poster, it is all stuff we've seen before. Sure, many people don't come around as much as others, but all the stuff is available in a user's profile. The amount of scrolling through the forums is unreal.

I agree with Denise. I like it there and often look at it to get a quick “bio” on the poster. To me, at least, I’d much rather scroll than click. Clicking just leads to more clicking which means you must leave the page, and sometimes the site, you are viewing and then click your way back. Imho, scrolling is much more efficient. YMMV.

Apparently @DeniseM has chosen not to fill in the Location box on her profile. Its optional.

I don't know why it isn't showing, because it's in my profile - maybe I have to many lines.

will say that xenforo DOES change the forum layout depending on how wide your screen/window is! if i narrow it down to below half size (its a pixel based setting) it switches to this:

Personally I am one a computer and it's not hard to spin the scroll wheel on my mouse. I think it's much more useful to have the information there when I'm looking at a post than to even think of clicking through and go off where I am in a thread and maybe lose my place etc...

That's how mone shows on my phone. When I rotate my phone the long way then the information shows.

All the stuff on the left is what is missing on my phone. I used to see that. Been gone for quite a while. With further reading all the “bottom stuff” is gone too. And, yes everything is there when I rotate the phone. I bet when my iPad conked out two years ago (got up to go potty, 5 minutes later it was dead when I came back) that’s when everything went away because I started using my phone exclusively.

yea its just a resolution thing. if your screen width in pixels is below a certain amount it will automatically render the more mobile friendly format.

I believe it even changes again if the pixels get even smaller to a pure mobile device rendering of the site vs just a "smaller print" version of what you see on a laptop or desktop.

I see upcoming travel plans, not ownership, when I'm reading posts.
I like it that way.
