Getting Ready for Our Daughter's Visit to Molokai

We went back to our condo last night so they could enjoy some alone time. Friday we go on our Whale watch as long as the weather cooperates.

They went down to Kepuhi Beach to catch the sunset last night. 🤙🏻

Slip, your daughter is beautiful and her boyfriend handsome! Enjoy your time with them!

Whale watch was a great success. It was a blast with whales all around the while time. We had two breaches really close and many others that were a little further.

Michelle and Justin went right up on the front of the boat for most of the ride. The captain and crew mate are great on the tour. They only take out six people so there's plenty on room to relax and be comfortable.

She still has to go through a ton of pictures but here's a few.

I'd call your daughter's (and BF) visit an unqualified success. There's just nothing better than spending time with adult kids and sharing their successes. Congrats, Jeff & Kim!

Rainy day throughout the islands today so we are staying in today. We are at our condo and we are going over to the west side to Ke Nani Kai tomorrow for the Super Bowl and some Burgers.

A couple more pictures from yesterday.

We are under a flood advisory here in Molokai until about noon. I believe most of the state is under advisories this weekend.

Our daughter is going to be picking us up soon and take us back to Ke Nani Kai with them to watch the Super Bowl. Hopefully, the dip by the church isn't too flooded.

We are staying there tonight and we're going to Kim's Ukulele jam Monday morning. Parts of Molokai is without power but we both have power for now. There is a strong wind advisory also.

Big winter storm going through Hawaii. All the islands are affected with high winds and rain. Flooding and uprooted trees on some islands.

We lost power on the west side at 10am and it was out until 1am, out for 15 hours. Then it went out again at 12pm and it just came back on at 5pm so another 5 hours.

We never lost power on the East side. I can check with app on my generator. There was a line at the BBQ'S yesterday since the appliances here are electric.

Since we didn't have power Michelle and her boyfriend went to Paddlers to watch the Super Bowl. It was pretty crowded.

Now that the power is back in we are doing dishes and laundry in case it goes out again. We better start making dinner too. Lol

Still windy and rainy today. Kim and I did go golfing in the morning but there were cars and trucks in the driveway cleaning up trees that fell across the road.

We did get through and they were open. I was kind of surprised. We got misted on a few times and it was windy but we both golfed pretty well. There were only a couple others out there.

While we were golfing, out daughter texted us that the power was out again. Looks to be out another 7 hours too. We picked them up and went to Molokai Burger for lunch. Then we took them back to our place on the East side. We have power and a generator if the power goes out. Lol

They are down enjoying the Cabana by the pool now. It's windy and overcast but they have wifi and are relaxing and reading while they over look the ocean.

Hawaii Electric expects power to be back on at 5:30 pm. So we'll probably get back there at about 6pm. The power has been out 27 hours over the last two days. This has been quite the storm.

We made it back to Ke Nani Kai and our power was back on!! Hopefully, it lasts this time.🤙🏻

We still HAVE power. Lol

The sun is out today and our daughter and boyfriend headed down to the Hot Tub and Pool today. They took some drinks so they will be gone a while. Lol

We may head down later amd enjoy the hot tub ourselves. Still really windy. We have see videos of the winds on Maui and Oahu. Oahu had plenty of flooded streets too. It was reported Molokai had some of the highest wind gusts in the state with this storm, 73 mph.

They enjoyed the Cabana yesterday at WaveCrest. They saw some whales from the Cabana too. The weather seems to be calming down some. Hopefully it continues.

Well, they went on the Waterfall hike to the Halawa Valley today. It turned out to be a long six hour tour. She had a rough time with the Keene shows she borrowed from her mom but they had a good time in the end.
