My wife asked me sit through a zoom presentation for Getaways Unlimited, website is membergetaways.com

The presentation was structured like a timeshare one, but it isn't one. It's a club of sorts for travel discounts, kind of like the timeshare exchange without the property ownership is what it seems to me. Anyone know about this outfit? It was a no, but I don't find a ton of info on it.

Supposedly the free gift for sitting through is airfare and a cruise, I'll believe it when I see it.

Without knowing for sure what is behind it, their website is very sparse and the brochure is more flashy than informational, I suspect this is an RCI based travel club. Since there is a "gift" to attend the presentation, I suspect there is a very high buy-in cost. You can get into many RCI based travel clubs for free.

We recently joined a travel website. It came with a 60 day trial and then cost $49 a year. I went ahead and didn't cancel this as that was my original intention. It really has some good deals including timeshare stays.

As far as getting anything worthwhile at a presentation I have my doubts.

Ok, yea these seem like the same sort of deal, just a lot cheaper than this outfit was. Their pricing was quite convoluted in the presentation and not terribly clear. Thanks! I'll look into these.

Their website doesn't really have a lot of information about how it works or even regarding pricing. I'm not even sure how you sign up.

I received our offer after a deal with timeshare nation in an email . It looks like there is a contact on the website you could click.

I wasn't going to do anything other than the 60 day free trail but decided to try it for a year because I forgot to unsubscribe, lol.

It looks a lot like gloss on RCI last calls or the like? Though I'd wonder about the hotel stays cause I don't think those usually look very good through RCI. Maybe you can click around a little and take a screenshot of the non-timeshare hotels?

It also maybe sounds a little like TravelZoo which seems to collate lots of online travel agencies sort of guided trips or the like? It's $40 a year, and I'm a member also cause I've not remembered to cancel. The issue is in a lot of ways the deals seem OK but are very specific and often wouldn't fit in people's schedule unless this is the first thing you look at and book or it overrides other stuff for you. You also don't really get any control at all, it's the traditional "you pay us X and we pick the locations, hotels, cars/busses, and sometimes flights". I'm sure this appeals to many, but I have always gotten a little skittish and never tried it myself.

It's there. You just have to click the join now link and you would see it on top of the page. I was given a link from TN so you could contact them too.
