Hi all

Apologies if this has been asked already, but late last year I booked a getaway for a friend to stay at Marriott Grand Vista in May. As I booked it for them I feel responsible for giving them their money back. Does anyone know what Interval are doing regarding Getaway bookings and refunds. Their booking is for May so a lot can change between now and then. I did receive an email recently to say that Getaway bookings can be postponed until later in the year via a credit, I’m from the UK so realistically that’s not practical and not going to happen. So I think the whole booking will be lost

Any thoughts would be great.

There are no refunds for getaways. You are a good friend to give the money back even when you won't get anything from II

You should have received an email from II and if not you can view their adjusted cancellation policy posted in the community section of II.
Here is the section on getaways. I would imagine this policy will need to be extended into the future. I would hang on a bit longer and wait and see.
  • GETAWAYS:
  • o For Getaways cancelled with check-in dates through April 30, 2020, you will have the option to apply the amount paid toward a future Getaway. If you are unable to identify your travel destination/date at the time of cancellation, you will be provided with a no-fee replacement-week certificate for which travel must be completed by December 31, 2020.
  • o For any cancellation of a Getaway that is booked between March 14, 2020, and April 30, 2020, you will have the option to apply the amount paid toward a future Getaway.

It does seem very strange that Interval Getaways are still showing as available to purchase for check in just a few weeks away at MVC resorts which have closed to new arrivals until further notice.
