Gargling with saltwater for coronavirus?

Well, if nothing else, it should soothe your throat a bit.....:D

Actually salt water is quite beneficial for many issues, It will help a sore throat and dentists have for many years recommended it for any work they do. Just rinse for 30 seconds
and spit. Warm salt water will also relieve pain as well. Salt water will bring bacteria out and to the surface.

Just remember, unless you like the taste, don't swallow.

I like when old home remedy's actually end up having a basis in science. My mom was a big proponent of gargling with salt water

Salt water in a "neti pot" is a great symptom reliever. Early on in the virus spread there was a lecture going around with the woman speaker discussing many ways to avoid the germ taking hold. Drinking warm water every 15 minutes was one of her tips. She also advocated gargling with salt water. But the one tip she'd suggested was new to me and one that I've followed every time since mid-March when I've had the slightest sore throat....
I gargle with vinegar. Not too pleasant but my sore throat never was severe or lasted more than a day or so.

I do it on a regular basis. More so at the beach though which were closed for 2.5 months during covid.

A dentist in a tv commercial mentioned swishing peroxide in mouth,

Cold EEZE lozenges are also effective. The active ingredient is zinc.

Safety and risks

Hydrogen peroxide is safe for most people if they use it correctly. However, the compound can be harmful if a person uses it too often or if the concentration is too strong.

Use a 3 percent concentration of hydrogen peroxide. Anything stronger is likely to cause irritation.

What about a Listerine type product?

IMO gargle with anything you want or like, this will not do anything to prevent you from getting covid-19, it might soothe, but not prevent .
As this pandemic continues, people look for an easy fix to allow them to go out and about without doing what actually helps.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that it's an easy fix to prevent you from getting infected, or as a substitute for wearing masks and socially distancing while out in public. What it might do, perhaps, is clear out some of the viral load so that one's body has a better chance to effectively fight back before it progresses.

My dentist is using hydrogen peroxide as before and after rinse in place of listerine.

I can't gargle without ending up retching. Swishing is as close as I can get.
