Which is better to find something in Galveston for the week or even part of the week of November 23rd? I can’t find anything in either II or RCI. I can NEVER seem to find something! Maybe there just aren’t very many resorts there? I will put in a search but unsure of which place would be the better option for me. Thanks in advance for the help!

Holiday inn vacation club is decent there, occasionally you’ll see it on RCI last call

Are you getting on a cruise?
If so you likely want to stay in the strand area
The treemont hotel there is lovely
If you want to stay near the beach make sure you don’t stay in the west end because traffic can be a killer getting there
What exactly are you looking for? How many people etc? When my kids were little we had a beach house there for fifteen years so I know the area well
Happy to help

It is just my husband and myself. We ARE going on a cruise leaving the 30th. Want to stay for at least 3 nights before the cruise up to 7 nights if I can find something! We have Wyndham which has nothing there, HGVC points also. RCI/II. Nothing. I didn’t realize which booking this cruise (I just booked it 3 days ago!) that the week of the 23rd is also the week of Thanksgiving! Dummy me!

Will you have a car?

Here are the nicer hotels
Moody gardens … if you golf, not on the beach but a lovely place to stay and easy to get around
The San Luis directly across from the water
The Treemont on the strand is historical with a great roof top bar and easy to walk the strand
Here are our favorite restaurants
Rudy and Pacos, best fried lobster appetizer ever and across the street the same family owns a cigar bar and a steak house.
Mother Teresa’s Flying pizza is on the same street with excellent Italian food
Tons of happy hours
I recommend Willie G, Landrys, Linda’s on the pier, Boulevard.
There is a great tour of the Bishops house, Moody Mansion
The Elissa is a huge boat docked near the strand
There is also a car museum owned by Jerry J Moore, huge collection
Please realize the beach there isn’t the best but Galveston does have quiet a few things to offer
I can tell you which condos are good to rent and centrally located if you go that route
On timeshares the only one I’m aware of is The Holiday Inn.
Please feel free to ask me anything and I’ll try my best to help.
Btw you are also close to nasa which is a great day trip and there is an amazing German brewhaus restaurant there that’s a ton of fun
For groceries the Kroger on the sea wall is reasonable
The Randall’s off 61st is similar to Publix
If your driving and want groceries I’d recommend HEB in league city, truly it’s an experience in itself and the Chinese restaurant next to it 888 Chinese is fantastic and reasonable

Oh and there is a buckees near by which is always a fun thing to do
Cheap gas but an experience in itself 🤣

WOW! Thank you for this information! I am totally unfamiliar with Texas so this is something new for me! So I’m guessing Galveston is way bigger than I thought! We may end up renting a condo….maybe. Can you tell me realistically how far Webster Tx is from Galveston? We can exchange into the Great Wolf lodge-not really my cup of tea but I won’t have to pay $$. Not sure if we would want to be that far from Galveston. Personally I love a great swimming pool and not the beach. If I want a beach I go to St. Maarten.

It’s not far at all
Frankly if you can stay at Great Wolf lodge I certainly would
Bearing traffic you can easily get to galveston in an hour
Plus Webster has great restaurants and wonderful access to nasa etc
Please feel free to pm me I’ll give you my phone number so we can chat etc

Webster has HEB for unbelievable groceries, an experience in itself … the Chinese next door 888 is great
Rudy’s bar B Q is fantastic, looks like a gas station but very clean nice high end
You can go to Clearlake and see NASA and the water there, classier area
Plus the boardwalk there is amazing with tons of restaurants
Kings Brewhaus is so close and a blast 💥
Great German food live bands etc
Buckeyes is close also

In Clearwater they have amazing fresh shrimp
Boat rentals
Very different vibe than Galveston
I’d stay at Great Wolf
Go down to Galveston for the day

If you like Mexican food
Lupe’s tortilla …my favorite
Chuys …second favorite
El Tiempo…. A classic … owned by the family that did George Bush Sr innugruration fiesta
Are all within minutes
Each is unique and worth eating at

You would be 15 minutes away from Kemah boardwalk
Look that up
Great restaurants
Fun to watch the boats go by etc
There is one there that was on diners and dives
Very good but can’t go wrong with any of them

Also if you shop there is a very nice small outlet mall within 15 minutes

Your an hour outside of downtown Houston
If you want to spend a week
I can give you information on the theater district restaurants zoo etc

Thank you! I am going to be looking at VRBO's now to see what's available in both areas. Which do you think I should focus on?
