Got a call this morning from one of the companies who claim to want to take your timeshare - presumably for an upfront fee. It was National Acquisitions or something like that...
The caller said their records indicated we had previously inquired with them about getting rid of our timeshare with Diamond Resorts. I informed him we had never inquired with his firm or any other firm about giving them our timeshare.
He proceeded to tell me that oh yes we did, because his screen says we inquired a couple of months ago.
I then inform him that we sold our Diamond Kaanapali Beach Club last fall. After a "pregnant pause" on the line, his response was, "You SOLD it?"
"Yes. We sold it for cash," I said.
"That's the first I've ever heard of someone doing that," he said. "You actually got someone to buy it?"
"Yes," I replied. "We brokered it through Timeshare Resales Hawaii and they found a buyer. Sold it for almost $5000."
After another pause, he said, "Wow. Never heard of that happening," and hung up.
It must of flustered him a bit, because about a minute later the phone rings again and it's the same guy starting with the same spiel. I tell him, "I just talked to you a minute ago. Why are you calling again?'
He said he lost his place on his list and apologized for the second call...
