Four plus a 2 1/2 year old are going to Frenchman's Cove (St. Thomas) in December. Any suggestions on which building, villa numbers and etc. we should request? Thanks.

I like Tortola but it really depends on what your preferences are. Some folks complain about the elevators but once you take them you are at the pool. There's no trudging 100 yards to the pool, restaurant, beach or gym with a 2 year old. All rooms face the water. Most of the rooms in Tortola can't view the pool area from the balcony which is why I like it. All the other buildings overlook the pool/beach and out into the water.

The good news is that because Frenchman's Cove is located on a hillside, all of the buildings have good views - particularly from the higher floors. The resort isn't that big but there is a lot of up and down for which you can take elevators, stairs, and/or the slope of the roads.

But unlike some other MVC resorts there is no one building that is best - it's a question of personal preference. Do you most want to be closer to Pacquereau bay, the pool, the main building taxis and shuttle bus, the dining of Frenchman's Reef (at the adjacent Westin/Buoy Haus), or have a view of Charlotte Amalie?

We also stayed in the Jost Van Dyke building. Even from the third floor the views were great. And easy to get to the pool.
