FYI for anyone that's interested - there's a free 8K contract listed on Timeshare Nation right now. Might already be gone, of course.

They’re typically legit from exit companies or trade ins, but desirable ones go quick. I got a free 7K WorldMark and a 2 BR Sheraton Vistana Villages Key West EOY (mandatory VSN week) from them as well as some other decent ones over the last few years. YMMV, of course.

Definitely legit. I just don't like 8K contracts as it MF is the same as 10K contracts. But free is free! I don't need more WM credits but I would jump at this otherwise.

If this is your first you really lucked out getting a WM. It's really easy to use and doesn't cost too much in mf. You can add the amount of points you have to your WM account by purchasing up to an 8000 credit account.

I was thinking of looking for a 7k account because 15k total is the top of a MF range plus 15k seems to be about what I would be able to easily use in a year.

I beleive he was referring to "renting" additional one time use points from another owner (transferring)?

If you have an 8000 credit account you can add up to 8000 credits each year to this account meaning your account would be up to 16,000 credits that you pay mf for.

You can rent twice the amount of credits in your account so you could rent 16000 credits with an 8000 credit account.

Yes one advantage of WM is you can rent credits from other owners.

And as a new WM owner you should check out wmowners.com, which is run by WM owners and dedicated to all things Worldmark. They have a place to rent credits, both in and out.

Timeshare Nation is just a listing aggregator site used by a variety of exit companies and some individuals for weeks the can’t sell via eBay or by advertising elsewhere. They don’t really control how people list things, so there are often oddities like this. I fairly frequently see Sheraton Vistana Villages weeks listed as Sheraton Vistana resort, which is close but can make a difference to the resale value. I’ve also seen a lot of Club Wyndham Select deeds listed under Wyndham points, including one decent sized Bali Hai ownership.

I filled out the form shortly after @Eric B posted. (Thank you very much @Eric B !!)
I responded with a picture of my driver's license to the automated email.
Then we emailed back and forth several times because the automatically generated form I signed at first had errors in it and I ended up getting it 4 times until it was right (year 203, then year was some cut off words, then year 2023...).
Then I got the email I quoted.
Then I got an email from a different company saying they are processing it and I will be getting paperwork to sign.

Not to sound stingy, but now I am praying for: pass ROFR, a full balance of points, and no housekeeping fees --- I didn't want to ask any questions to slow it down. I'll just find out what I get later.

Forgot to mention there was also a phone call where they asked for "verbal verification" and asked things like if my driver's license address matches my mailing address.
