I have searched the internet for free software that would convert itunes music from M4P to MP3.

The software that I have tried thus far only converts the first minute which isn't helpful.

Does anyone know of a free software that would convert the entire song from M4P to MP3.

Thanks for your help!!

I don't know what M4P is, but you might look at dbpoweramp music converter.

I don't have any software you are looking for, but here is how I convert my Itunes downloads to MP3s. I either found it in the Itunes help or by searching
the internet: 1) burn your playlist to an audio CD from Itunes, 2) in Itunes under Edit, Preferences, Advanced, Importing - select MP3 Encoder in the box
that says 'Import Using'. 3) use Itunes to import (File, Import) the songs back in from the CD you created and it creates a new copy with an MP3 extension. I can't
remember what the folder is where it puts them - sometimes I have to do
a search on my computer to find them.
This does waste a CD and take some time because
of the burning time.
By the way, under Edit, Preferences, Advanced, Burning, there is
an option to create an MP3 CD, but apparently this doesn't do the
trick.

oh, m4p is itunes drm-protected format? Thanks for pointing that out Richard.

And you want to convert them to get rid of the DRM? lol

You can always burn an audio CD from itunes. That's permitted within their agreement, presumably for your own personal use only, up to a certain number of times, IIRC.

Personally, I think you are better off purchasing DRM-free music from Amazon in mp3 format, if the tunes you want are available there.

Thanks for the responses. I will try to burn it to a CD then re-import. We'll see if that works for me.
