I was given this time share several years back in this forum, and like the idea of passing it on in here.

It is a 1 bedroom eoy (every other year - even years) at the Sheraton Desert Oasis (SDO) in Scottsdale Arizona.

It is officially deeded for week 52 but usage is available 1-52. According to post 3 in this link, this gives higher trading power: http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67076 (no idea if its still true). But as an example of its trading power, last week when I looked on interval international for exchanges in Hawaii, I could see the much sought after Marriott Ko Olina on Oahu and the Westin Princeville on Kauai. I've seen the other high end ones in the past too.

It is a wonderful way to try out timeshares if you have been considering it. I love the low maintenance fee which still lets you get into all the getaways on Interval International. The maintenance fees are $344.61 each year (which is $649.23 fees every 2 years, plus an annual $20 bookkeeping fee they charge).

The 2016 usage is available for you to do what you wish. I paid the $344.61 fees for 2016. No fees due until 2017.

I love the timeshare but with our cdn dollar plunging by over 30% I need to limit my u.s $ expenditures.

You would be responsible for the transfer fee. I will use whatever timeshare transfer company you want. (I had used Legal Timeshare Transfers when this was transferred to me and it had cost me roughly $120 which I paid directly to the timeshare company).

Deeded week in this case does not impact external exchange value.

In II, you would received the blended value of the Gold Plus (1-52) season.
In RCI (and other independent exchange companies), you would receive the actual value of the week you reserved and deposited.

But this is a good (free) deal for someone who wants to try out SVO!
