We are cutting back on our timeshare ownership.
Marriott Grande Vista 2 bedroom annual use gold season
Member of Florida club
Can be split into 1 bed and studio to enjoy 2 weeks of use.
Beautiful resort with the option to trade into others through Interval International
Buyer will pay all fees associated with the transfer
Ownership will start in 2027.
Maintenance fees were $1998.26 per year
Hope this goes to a good home as we have enjoyed it and the trades we have received very much.

We are going to be doing a deed back with Marriott if nobody wants this. If interested please let me know in the next couple of days.
Thanks

If you do the deedback, please let us know the terms. Thanks.

Sad to think that the only outlet now for a gold Grande Vista is to pay the $400 and deed it back. I would have thought someone would take a freebie offer here. Our gold MGV week still trades good for us. We haven't deposited 2027 to see if there is any impact on trading power as some have reported, but we've got great trades over the years with ours.

It is sad but we are in our mid 70’s now and circumstances have changed. We got it many years ago from a tugger for the same deal of just paying the closing costs. We have had so many great vacations with it . Bringing family to the Ko’Olina and Newport Coast on a regular basis. We actually just got back from a week at the Ko’Olina and a week at Kaua’i beach club in January. It certainly doesn’t owe us anything but I would like to see it go to another family rather than back to Marriott. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the 2026 weeks and then sadly put an end to our Grande Vista time.

There are a couple of II Facebook groups. Someone there may be interested. In the II / DVC group, if you explain how you can book Myrtle Beach and trade into DVC that way, and get 2 weeks, I think it will go.
Good luck.

THe proble is that you can't use Grande Vista to trade into DVC. There is a work around through the Florida Club though.

Right, but that might have to be explained to prospective buyers.

Jacki, it's not Myrtle Beach.
You can book at Marriotts BeachPlace Towers, Ocean Pointe, Legends Edge and Miami Doral in Gold Season at 6 months out via the Florida Club to exchange in II or use yourself.
Yes, this is a work around for the Orlando 30 mile block and can be used to exchange into DVC.
Good idea! Link this to the group.

Thanks for the clarification.

I think you just need to give it a little more time for more people to see this

I suspect you will be able to give this away before your maintenance fees come due for 2027, but I’d give it more than a few days.

What is the transfer fee? Does it come with Interval to exchange it?

Haven’t checked with LT transfers but I believe about $400 for closing costs and then $120 to Marriott for their transfer fee. Yes you can join Interval and then trade through them. You will have preference for Marriott properties.

Thanks, I will tell my friend as he was looking for a timeshare to get access to Interval with and we live in a reasonable distance to this resort as to where he could use it with his family as well.

We have signed the documents and this will be going back to Marriott. 😥🙂 The cost will be $400.
Thanks for the memories Grande Vista.

Sad to see that no one is interested in these anymore. Perhaps they can be found on Ebay and other sites with a free year of usage? If that is what it take, deeding back to Marriott for $400 is cheaper. I guess that will be our way out at some point, if the option is still available when the time comes.

The issue is with the points systems. There are Vistana StarOptions available for less MF per year with more flexibility.
Since Marriott gatekept the Abound program and Interval Getaways are often so cheap; it's likely that anyone can stay in the same resort for less money through getaways than the MF.
I told my friend about this the other day, but he saw some other options with points and is looking at those Instead.
Those of us with young families really don't get to go away for a week very often, so booking a few days here and there with points is more enticing.

Most people looking to buy Grande Vista aren't looking to go there with their actual week. They would likely be using it to trade in II. So the price of Getaways at this resort aren't overly relevant. You can still get good trades with an MGV week to other resorts and still book getaways at MGV for cheap. As for exchanging, by the time you add all the MFs and exchange fees it probably works out to about $1250 for a week.

Exactly.

There are lots of times of the year that a 2BR unit is less than $1250 for a week. If their MF is $2k and exchange fee is $250; you would need to exchange this week for multiple weeks in resorts that are just as expensive on II otherwise you are losing money. It could work though for people who just want into the timeshare platform, which is why I told my friend about it.

Points becomes a better bet because you can just stay for 2-3 days (which fits better for most of us younger people).
July 4th week (most expensive I could find):

You are not looking at this through the right lens. You would never use this week to exchange back into Grande Vista or any other Orlando resort. Use it to exchange for Aruba, Hawaii, Newport Coast Villas, Hilton Head Island in more prime seasons. Those weeks would cost a lot more than $1250. When you want to go to Orlando, buy a Getaway. When you want to go to other resorts that don't show up in Getaways, use the exchange.

If you just want to go to Orlando, there are far cheaper options than any Marriott week. You can get some that might only cost $400 for a week and you can buy all the getaways you want. There are many resorts and times of the year that don't show up in Getaways, that is what you use exchanges for. The Marriott to Marriott exchange priority is rather powerful and can get you some great trades.
