Former Monkee Davy Jones dies at age 66 in Florida

Yesterday, DW advised me that she had a major crush on Davy Jones when she was a teeny bopper. He seemed to be a very fine fellow all during his life. RIP

My wife loved Davy Jones when she was a kid. We went to see him at EPCOT a few years ago. One of those free shows during the Food and Wine, or Flower and Garden Festivals. I always kidded her about Davy being the "lead singer" because their biggest hits were sung by Micky Dolenz, who played the drums.

So funny, I also connected with Mickey more. I believe he was previously with the Kinks, so he had a 'real' band experience before the Monkees. Did you see Piers Morgan's interview with Mickey last night on CNN?

But I also loved Peter and Mike. I had heard that Mike Nesmith was the only 'real' musician of them all, but who knows where I heard that or got that impression.
