So we are going to a late afternoon outdoor wedding Dec 10 in Sarasota. DH is not expected to wear a tux, and he doesn't own a suit that fits :ignore:
Is it too late in the year to wear a sort of cream colored linen jacket with dark pants and dark shirt? His usual fall back is blue blazer with khaki pants. I think maybe he has a camel wool blazer he wears with black wool pants but is that too wintery for FL?? Or maybe it will be cold there then, who knows.

I on the other hand will be impeccably dressed in a gold silk short strapless dress and will look perfect :D

Tell him to wear the blazer with dark gray slacks if he has them. If not, see if he can just buy some dress slacks that look good with the blazer. Around here you can get some nice slacks at Macy's for under $30 on sale with a coupon. I wouldn't go nuts given that it is a daytime wedding.

....or tell him to lose some weight to fit into the suit;)

He will be fine with the cream colored jacket and dark pant, dark slacks. Here in Florida you will see anything - alot of pink and green lol!!! If we want to take the blazer with him in case of cold - you didn't mention whether anything would be outdoors - it would be a good idea. We are having a cold spell - not for you northeners but for us 58 overnight is cold! You never know what the ensuing weeks will bring. Linda

Casual chic... whatever that is.
A pair of slacks and a jacket or blazer of any matching color.
If the sun is still up, light colors are fine.

If it's mid-afternoon and outdoors, it could be very warm. We went to an end-of-November outdoor wedding here that was really HOT and in the sun. That being said, if it's indoors or evening, it could be cool.

Yes this is a later afternoon outdoor wedding.

My 97 year old father came to the rescue. The man has closets full of suits and jackets barely worn, all pressed and cleaned, all sizes and colors, lined up like someone with OCD. Even pinks, greens and blues from his FL. years, many years ago. Those will stay in the closet, LOL. DH came home with a lightweight suit and two sport coats. Plenty of time for minor alterations and we are set.
