It’s not the opening of the bars that’s to blame. It’s people wanting to believe they can do whatever they want without consequences.

Young People seem to believe they’re especially immune from both illness and the consequences of their actions. The big unintended consequence is likely to be the permanent loss of jobs and income, all because a large enough group of people can’t modify their behavior long enough to get past all of this.

Granted no one is certain how long enough will be, but opening and then re-closing and starting over sure as heck won’t make this go by any quicker.

How many of those in the 25-34 age group, that visited Florida in the last 30 days. Have taken the Covid-19 virus back home to family, grand parents, co-workers, associates and friends?

There was a story in the Miami Herald yesterday or the day before about the fact that lap dancing was still permitted in Miami. Ten feet? Six feet?

(The mayor was caught unawares. I suspect that something will be imposed.)

Los Angeles County just joined these restrictions.

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday ordered tougher restrictions for much of the state, requiring 19 counties experiencing increased spread of coronavirus to halt visits to indoor restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms, entertainment centers, movie theaters, zoos, museums and cardrooms.
The governor is imposing the restrictions on indoor activities in advance of the July 4 holiday weekend, when officials fear disaster if Californians continue to ignore safety guidelines and businesses remain open in areas already experiencing significant spikes in COVID-19 infections. Newsom is also recommending the cancellation of all fireworks shows on the Fourth of July, and is urging Californians to rethink having large get-togethers with friends and neighbors to celebrate the holiday.

Just my two cents and thoughts. Since most, or many, bars and nightclubs are usually very noisy, don't most people have to almost shout to be heard? And wouldn't shouting cause droplets to spread farther? Just going along with the thought that 6 feet might not be enough.
I'd also need to know which alcohol in my glass to have that will, with certainty, kill shout spittle.

I would very much like to head down to the local pub to shoot a rack of balls and eat their yummy food. I will be on the 'not quite yet' plan for a while. I could probably head in at opening mid week, get my billiard fix, and order my chow to enjoy on the terrace.

I'm not comfortable with it yet. It still feels creepy when there are too many people in the produce section at the grocery. I never liked crowds, but my definition of 'crowd' has changed.

Well, sure, I could mask my butt, too. Faces pointed same way, masked.

I would expect tips are very good right now. Not likely good enough to take up a new career like that...

Exactly.

I have become very practiced at avoiding crowds (where crowds is defined as anyone more than me out in public). I have no problem waiting my turn from much more than six feet...
