Florida beach advice needed

Hi Tuggers,

I need advice for traveling to Florida. We are looking at Marco Island, Key West, or another area if suggested. Trading a Marriott.

We want BEACH, a great swimming beach! We want to swim and float and snorkel if available.

We are looking for July 2014, kind of last minute but I just received companion certificates for the airlines that have to be used in 48 contiguous...Coming from Los Angeles.

If the beach is your main priority, I don't think Key West is the place. Try this:

These two places are only a few blocks apart.

I would go for Marco Island. July is slow time for them but not so much in Key West. Marco is fun!

You might want to try the Panhandle area. I loved Destin. The beaches were very nice too.

I dont know if Marriott is ocean front.

We go to Panama City Beach every year in July. There is also a state park there where you can snorkel by the Jetties. Snorkel tours go out on the Gulf. There are also some areas where you can canoe or tube down fresh water streams that are nearby. I can give you more info on that if you are interested.

Marriott itself has some nice beach properties in Florida. Ocean Pointe is one I've been to and would recommend.
