Does anyone have information on the conditions at Fairfield Harbour Resort in New Bern NC?

I am going to assume the worst given the broadcast news of the massive flooding in New Bern.

Does anyone have experience as to whether Wyndham or a resort has insurance for such devastation?

Are there other Wyndham resorts that might have been damages by hurricane Florence?

I realize that my questions here are pretty petty when compared against the massive suffering.

I know for a fact that downtown New Bern and the City of New Bern was hit hard with rain, hard wind and flooding.

That is all I know that is true.

The Wyndham website says that all of Wyndham at Fairfield Harbour in New Bern is closed through the end of the year for restoration after the hurricane. It doesn't say anything more. We have a contract based there so we'll be interested to see whether repairs will be fully covered by insurance or an assessment is forthcoming. No idea yet.

If someone is a owner, the following number should be able to give information on the resort insurance etc. If it answers with someone who knows or can get the information.

Remember that this place is no longer managed by Wyndham, in spite of the Fairfield name. So the time it takes to reopen and whether there are any special assessments is not something Wyndham has anything to do with

252 638 8011 Resort Management Group is the property management group. Per Wyndham, The Resort is closed through September 30th and no new reservations through end of year. Existing reservation now from October 1 to end of year are being honored at this point.

If someone really wants this resort in the near future, give Extra Holidays a try. This one is currently showing as available. Did not check all dates. This is a October 2018 week.

Most people wouldn't want to stay at a resort that wasn't fully open nor put up with the noise and mess from all the work being done.

You are so right. Also if you are not a fan of motorcycles don't go to ocean walk that week.

FairField Harbour is also located next to the Neuse River.

Agree, when a resort is fairly compact. But this is a sprawling resort with multiple large sections. The check-in lobby is in its own building. There are multiple recreation buildings spread out among the sections, with golf courses and whole ownership neighborhoods sprinkled through the area. It's lovely for biking along flat, shady, flat roads, past golf courses and ponds. If your assigned section and its recreation building/pool area are all open, you would not necessarily notice construction in another area, a car drive away.

Does Fairfield Harbour area flood from heavy rain or hurricanes?? That is the question or issue.
