I just recently swhitched to Firefox as a browser after a dissapointing experience with the upgrade from IE7 to IE8. Internet Explorer was supposed to be faster, but it is a "beta" version, and is slower. With Firefox, I was enticed to download some neat "gadgets" such Youtube. To see the videos, my Flashplayer 9 had to be updated to Flashplayer 10. This update is not free! 3 years for $8.50 or there are 2 other options that do not make economic sense. When I proceeded to cancel out of this offer, I was directed to a 50% reduction to $5.25 for 3 years. What are your thoughts re Flashplayer and now charging? Does one have to have Flashplayer to go to Youtube and to use other vido sites? Thanks for your responses.

Flash Player

When I attempt to download from the above mentioned site, I do not get the option to "Run" the program. I get "Save" or "Cancel". Is Windows Vista high security standards not giving me the permission to do this because I have been directed to Instal "SubinACL" but I do not feel comfortable doing this. Help:confused:

Unlike IE, Firefox will not run an executable file when you download it, for security reasons. Your choices are to save the file and run it on your own, or cancel. I suspect that's what you're running into.

The most extensive support forum for Mozilla products is www.mozillazine.org - here's an article on Flash from the Mozillazine Knowledge Base:

FireFox/IE and Flashplayer and IE7 vs IE8

Thank you Doug. I did download FP10 using IE:) but cannot do it using FF: . Have you experienced by updating to IE8 that it is slower than IE7. IE8 is a beta version. Does this mean that this experimental version will eventually operate faster?
