We have rented a timeshare in Orlando for March break through the II site - will FL state accommodation or sales taxes be applied to this stay and if so at what percentage rate??

Most likely, II has added the sales tax to your fee. It is up to II to pay the sales tax to Florida.

The resort will not charge you sales tax when you check in.

II used to (and I doubt that the practice has changed any) itemize the rental cost in confirmation documentation:
(X$ rental fee + Y$ applicable tax = Z$ total rental amount paid).

In short, renter actually underwrites the tax cost to II. II is in turn solely responsible for paying the tax to the state. You are not responsible for actually paying any tax at check-in after having previously "squared up" with II.

Notable exception, exchange in Hawaii. I know the OP listed FL, but the blanket statement by theo makes it sound like there will never be extra taxes. In Hawaii, the TOT or TAT, (whatever the letters are), are paid directly to the resort by the user of the week. They can not be collected by II, RCI or any other exchange company, they are paid directly to the resort.

A very specific question got a very specific answer...

... the blanket statement by theo makes it sound like there will never be extra taxes.

"Makes it sound like"??....Hello??....Say what??
The OP very specifically asked about Florida in the "subject" line and within the body of the post (a post submitted in the Florida forum). Accordingly, my response addressed Florida with equal specificity.
OP didn't ask about Hawaii at all here (...in the Florida forum).

My reply was was not a "blanket" or universal statement, despite your personal misinterpretation. The question was very location specific, as was the answer I provided. I thought of the HI exception, actually, but considered it to be off topic and irrelevant info to the question asked.
I also considered pointing out that the applicable FL taxes were likely 11% in toto, but considered that to also be superfluous, irrelevant info which was never actually requested by the OP.

I suppose I could have responded including reference to taxes in the United Kingdom too --- but the OP had only asked about FLORIDA.
