Fix or replace? [Bosch dishwasher]

I gather something was in the hose. He took it apart and ran water through it and he says some plastic came out. I had company and they filled it every day. He did say to always clean th3 disposal out before running dish washer. I don’t use th3 disposal much.
I can tell you he seemed more adept than when I had th3 warranty years ago.
Moral of the story, I probably will just buy new appliances next time.
Water under the bridge. At least it's working now. A new DW from Bosch would be over $1k.

That’s what I keep telling myself
For a "no parts needed" fix, the bill seems high in my opinion. If the equivalent hourly rate is over $80 to 100 per hour then the service guy charged quite a bit. My attorney charges $420 per hour. When I did consulting, I billed out at $200 an hour. If the service guy spent several hours figuring out the problem, then maybe the charge was justified. If it took less than an hour (including his drive time) then maybe my attorney should switch professions. Ha ha.

But on a positive note, the dishwasher now works, you know how to avoid the problem in the future and you are way ahead financially.

I ran the dishwasher last night and it worked perfectly
Emptied it this morning as I finished closing up the house for five months up north.
At least I don’t have to worry about buying a new dishwasher when I get back.
