Five night suite awards

How does this differ to the normal upgrade you get? We are now titanium but even on platinum always got upgrades.

With the suite night awards, you can request a specific suite type to be upgraded into (if they have multiple suite types at the hotel in question)....and supposedly if it is available 5 days before check in, you get it, and if you do, they update the room type on your ressie.
 
Ok thanks! I’ve a 3 night stay coming up and the hotel has Suites so going to request it, where can I see them credited to my Bonvoy account.

You have to go and select the 5 SNA in your marriott.com account. I am on my phone so cant give you directions to that screen to select your 50 night and 75 night award options.

After you logon to your account, click on you name icon on the top then on overview and then scroll down towards the bottom.
 
I've never successfully used a suite night award. And I've only occasionally, less than a handful of times, received a suite upgrade upon checking in with my titanium membership. I even showed the clerk that sites were still showing as being available on the MB reservations application and they gave the excuse that the web site is inaccurate. So I bought a suite while standing there in front of her and the payment went through. I then called over the manager and in fact they did have suites available. What does that tell you about this circus of MB fake membership benefits?

What did the manager say? That’s really bad customer service, why offer us perks if no intention of giving, bad business.

If using the app, select Account from bottom screen. Suite Night Awards should show right below Promotions in the bottom section.

You'll have to ask each hotel that question. Marriott corporation manages the program but they allow the individual hotels decide how they wish to treat each client, irrespective of one's membership level.

Have had almost no luck with SNA. This summer in Los Angeles with a Residence Inn mostly empty I was denied using SNA. This was during height of pandemic and very few guests. Was told no rooms for upgrade. Even called Marriott and they could see the rooms available. Was told it was up to the individual properties. I was not very happy as a lifetime Titanium with over 2000 nights. 98% of those nights were for TS stays.

I guess this is just a matter of luck.
I got the suite nights the one and only time I requested- got upgraded to the highest level suite.
 
Found them on the app easy, they weren't there yesterday that's why I couldn't find them!
