I know every case with RCI is different and YMMV, but when I was diagnosed with BC in the late fall of 2021 and given my chemo and other treatment timeline, I called RCI about our 10 night stay in VA that was booked for the following April. We had no insurance of any kind on our trip and were planning on driving down so that was easily cancelled. The RCI rep I got was very understanding and asked if she could put me on hold while she she spoke to a supervisor. She came back after a few minutes and said they were cancelling our stay and refunding the points and the exchange fee if I wanted it, or it could remain in our account for future use. I thanked her profusely and we are actually just now staying at that resort that I had to cancel after finding a chance availability while looking for somewhere to spend a week.
Good luck on your treatments, my 2nd round of chemo didnt go well either. My lungs became so inflamed my O2 levels dropped into the low 60's. I ended up in ICU in critical care for 2 days then a further 8 days in the respiratory unit in April '22. All is well now, no further troubles and I am cancer free!
