we are now vip members with 315 k with 315 bonus points.
As noted above, the FF system can take some time to master.
But very briefly, you can
1) Use some or all of your 315K points to book time at Fairfield resorts - - up to 13 months in advance at your home resort (or possibly home group) and up to 10 months in advance at other Fairfield resorts. [Certain popular resorts/timeslots tend to fill up early, so the 13 month preference is a way to secure a high-demand slot at your home resort. Your 315K points belong to a 12-month period (not necessarily a calendar year) and they'll expire unless you use them for vacations during that period OR do something different with them as described below.
2) An alternative to using points to book time at Fairfield resorts is to hand those points over to RCI Weeks in exchange for the ability to book RCI Weeks vacations. Doing this costs RCI exchange fees that you wouldn't have to pay within the Fairfield system, but
(i) it provides access to thousands of RCI weeks properties world-wide
(ii) you may find that as few as 28k or 70k FF points will get you a very nice week's vacation, and
(iii) if your FF points are in danger of expiring, they can be deposited with RCI weeks as late as the final month of the FF year, and that deposit will qualify to exchange for RCI Weeks vacations anytime in the following two years.
3) Only vips can also apply FF points into the RCI points system, and since I'm not vip I can't tell you anything about that!
Anyway, that's a start.
