Favorite Christmas Song

BTW, not many people know this, but Jingle Bells is not a Christmas song.
There nothing about Christmas in the lyrics.
In fact, it's more about horse racing and picking up women.

Once you mentioned this, it makes sense. In the Little House on the Prairie series (maybe the 4th book?) when Laura Ingalls begins dating her husband there is a whole section on the young people racing up and down main street in the sleighs and which boys had which girls in their sleigh and who could go fastest. Apparently teens hanging out on the "main drag" has been going on forever :).

As many have mentioned, O Holy Night is my favorite and I prefer the version by Il Divo, but I love this list and I think I'll put together a play list of these versions as well. Merry Christmas!
 
"This Christmas Day" - the concluding piece from the Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Ghosts of Christmas Eve" music program. IMNSHO, one of the finest Christmas music programs ever produced.Well worth checking out the entire concert.
