I was just contacted by this company. They want to take the timeshare off my hands. We owe nothing on it ant it is at the Patriot's Place in Williamsburg. I have also started the Ovation process with Wyndham Resorts. Anyway is EXExitNow a legit group or are they another company in a long line of company that are scammers?

Stay with using Wyndhams Ovation.
Never heard of this company but will probably be another company in a long line of companies that are scammers as you say.
Why pay anyone a dime or even have contact with them if Wyndham is already in the process of taking your deed back ?

of course they contacted you, they know you are a wyndham owner...and know full well your timeshare can be given back to wyndham likely for free.

they would be happy to "do this for you" for thousands of dollars paid up front to them!

Fact is, noone legitimate in this industry makes cold calls to owners about their timeshares.

Thanks...I am working the Ovation angle but I have heard that they are selective of the properties they will exchange.

If that doesn't work, you can re-home it on the TUG Bargain Deals forum for free.

I would say if Exit Now sends you a check and it clears and 2 weeks go by, then sell it to them. Oh, and that probably won't happen!

I have not read that Wyndham is very selective with their Ovation program, they just want it to be free and clear.

In reading discussion forums here on TUG and on RedWeek.com, I have in fact seen numerous posts from people whose Wyndham product was not accepted into Ovation, despite being fully paid off and all fees paid up to date (or so they have claimed).

I do not know details of the Ovation acceptance criteria, but it seems pretty clear that Wyndham will not accept just "anything and everything" back via Ovation.

It seems equally clear to me that ALL of the assorted "easy exit" outfits are expensive yet worthless scams.

A cold call out of a clear blue sky is enough to just hang up the phone right then and there, but having never even heard of these particular parasites before, I took a quick glance at their web site. A few off the cuff observations:

1. Copyright of 2018 suggests (but does not verify) that they may be just weeks old (which makes you wonder just how they acquired all of those glowing alleged "testimonials" posted on their site --- in just the past 19 days).

2. They are based in Orlando, FL and claim to "use" Timeshare Closing Services (also in Orlando; long established and long known as a "closer" for eBay megasellers). Could they all actually be the same people? Is EZ Exit maybe a new "spin off" of TCS? I dunno and don't claim to know (or care), but I still wonder. It could be that rather than just doing closings for PCC's, that TCS has decided to add and adopt the PCC model in a "spin off". No evidence, just wondering "aloud".

3. They even claim to be able to "help" (in ways predictably vague and unspecified) with timeshares on which there are unpaid fees and / or loans. They make no actual reference to belonging to the Magicians & Sorcerors union, but perhaps those very dubious claims are based upon their being direct descendants of the late Harry Houdini.

Although not at all persuasive, their web site was at least prepared by literate and articulate people. Just the same, I saw enough to make me ask where my running shoes were, so that I could lace up and sprint off --- in the other direction.

while true there are a % of folks who did not qualify for ovation (most of which we have seen, did indeed either have an outstanding loan, or overdue balance)....but even if in some instance someone had paid off wyndham points with no outstanding balance...they could EASILY be given away on the resale market.

they could EASILY be given away on the resale market.

If only there were someone to accept them. It is too simplistic to say "give it away."

A minor but important clarification; it's your money (not your timeshare) that they want to "take off your hands".

its fairly rare for an offering of free wyndham points to sit idle and not get snapped up eventually.

sure there are exceptions to every rule, but its absolutely ridiculous to turn to any upfront fee company without even trying.

1. I didn't see that the OP was talking about points. There are a lot of dog fixed weeks at Patriot's Place.
2. One of the well-documented reasons (here on TUG) for people considering resorting to 'exit' companies is that they have exhausted other possibilities, including offering for free with incentives.
3. Unquestionably, turning to an upfront-fee company is a bad move -- chasing bad money with bad money.

I have had old cars that I wanted to get rid of. My wife's glib suggestion was, "Sell it." Problem is, if it were good enough to sell, I wouldn't want to get rid of it. If I don't want it, it is not likely there are a lot of buyers out there. For some timeshares, we need takers, not buyers. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same -- there aren't any.

I may have misunderstood the ovation procedure, but I believe you call them up and they tell you if they are accepting what you have and if yes they send you the paperwork. If you have started that process then the only contingency would be if when they are researching your title, there is a problem. If there is a problem with the title that will be a problem regardless of how you try to transfer it.

Did you call and did Ovations say yes, no or we need to think about it and let you know?

Yes I have started teh Ovation process. They are currently in the title search process. They will find that we own it free and clear and have all dues up to date.

Thanks...I am cancelling the meeting.
