From what I remember if you stay at Bonnet Creek you can take advantage of the Extended Magic Hours. Is that correct and how to you redeem that time? Do you use your room key as proof?

Bonnet Creek guests do not get access to EMH, only Disney resort guests and the Swan and Dolphin.

EMH

A trick I saw some timeshare people do when I stayed at Bonnet Creek, is they evidently found and booked a very small cheap room at Disney Dophin or Sports, and stayed at Bonnet. I think they even seemed to drive over to park there and take Disney transportation.

It may depend on time of year and # of people in party, but it may be a reasonable cost or worth the cost for the perks. I haven't personally done this, but I have seen some reasonable cost at some of the Disney hotel rooms, that seem to me to be small.

Keep in mind that the parks having Extra Magic Hours also tend to be the most crowded for that particular day.

I tend to go to the parks that don't have EMH that day. ;)

Disney is getting tougher to beat on this. They now have Magic Bands (or as i call them "Tragic Bands") & Resort Room keys with embedded data. When you stay at a Disney Resort you get these.

Anyone can be IN the Park during EMH, but to ride a ride you have to verify (in line) with your room key or Tragic band. Last time I was there this was just visually by a "Cast member" (he or she just looked at the room key, but didn't scan it), but I am concerned they will soon scan the Bands and Room keys (via the FastPass+ system)?

Now a Disney "Tragic Band" & Disney resort room key knows your check-in & out date. I don't know if the Swan & Dolphin are scan-able by Fasspass+. Or the Hilton across from Dowtown Disney (which also gets you EMH, btw), for that matter.

Now if another hotel that participates in EMH does has a room key that that is not scannable (with check-in and check-out date data) you may have a shot.

EMH are better than nothing, so why not go to Tragic Kingdom at midnight when all the other parks are closed, right.?

I like the EMH and the magic bands. We will be staying in Bay Lake Towers in a few weeks via Worldmark trade. Pretty much full DVC privileges..

Any "privileges" you receive will be due to staying onsite; you will not receive any DVC member privileges.

Regular onsite privileges (as mentioned above, any Disney resort + Swan/Dolphin) are EMH discussed here, Disney Magical Express transportation from and back to the airport, the ability to bill onsite purchases to your room, and onsite purchase delivery to your room so you don't have to carry your trinkets around all day. Everybody gets those benefits; it has nothing to do with DVC.

There are some DVC privileges which apply to any DVC member, no matter where they are staying (restaurant and merchandise discounts, for example) and others which apply only to DVC members staying in a DVC resort on points (e.g. pool hopping).

At BLT, you may be able to go to the Top of the World Lounge as a BLT guest. That's another of the any-DVC-member perks, but I'm not sure if applies to non-DVC guests, so check with the desk at checkin.
