Explain timing of maintenance fee payments and year usage? First resale deeded week

If you are booking a vacation stay 12 to 13 months in advance (e.g. booking June 2024 to use in June 2025), is it the maintenance fees that were paid for 2024 (in January I think?) that are allowing that use in June 2025? Essentially, is your current year MFs allowing you the right to book within that year for use the next year?
I am trying to figure out how the timing of MFs coming due and bookings/usage work so that I can work 2025 usage into negotiations for a purchase of a deeded week. I won't be making the offer until October (we are visiting the resort in October first). Am I right to assume that if the owner has a week booked for 2025 and already paid 2024 MFs, then I could request that 2025 week to be transferred to me as the new owner? And then I would be paying the 2025 MFs in Jan 2025 so that I can make my first booking for 2026 use?
Come October, will I also be able to know what the upcoming 2025 MFs will be before I submit the offer? Are they billed that early?
Thanks for clarifying all this- it's very helpful. I have searched on the topic and haven't found the answer.

It can vary by timeshare brand.
For MVC you can reserve a week in a year before the maintenance fees are due. Some other systems you can prepay the maintenance fee for the next year and then book.
Often maintenance fees are due in the period Nov-Jan of the prior year. E.g for a booking in June 2025, the maintenance fees could be due in Nov 2024 to Jan 2025.

The current owner will have been able to book June 2025 without prepayment of the 2025 maintenance fees.
Others may have the exact date that maintenance fees are due for that resort as it can vary, but usually no later than early Feb 2025.

This would be for a Marriott deeded week at Grande Vista.
Annual use?

Our fees for Grande Vista are due sometime mid to late January. The fee paid during this time is for that use year. You don't need to prepay Marriott fees to make a reservation or deposit your week for exchange. Every other year fees would require a longer explanation.
