i have deposited my 2009 unit and put in a request for Spain, summer 09 for 2 marriott properties. The fee is $99 to exchange within marriott nat/int'l. i really really really want to go to spain next summer, so i am thinking of adding non-marriotts to the request. my questions are as follows
1. can i do this?
2. the fee will be $154, do i just pay the $55 difference since i already paid a request fee?
3. will i be more likely to get to spain next summer by doing this?
4. should i wait until January to do this since most european owners don't let their week go a year in advance?
5. any recommendations for spain resorts, any area of spain?

thanks so much for all of your help!

I am not sure if my situation helps or complicates matters for you. I just had a trade for July 2009 Marriott Marbella come through for me. We traded a 2 bedroom Marriott Maui Ocean Club week for Marbella. I was after a very specific 2 week period in July and I only requested Marbella and the trade came through in under 3 weeks. Some may say we traded away too much, on the other hand, I was being "picky" with time period and resort, and we really wanted to go to Spain, so for us, it was worth it.

spoke to them directly on the phone, again, this time the additional weeks requested show up.
hopefully because i added a June week, maybe i'll get spain. if i don't see it by January, i think i'll request timber lodge, or maybe add some non-marriott's in spain
any suggestions, and still my original questions apply
