I am the world’s worst fool. I am kicking myself around the block for not reading TUG’s information about exiting time shares. I signed a contract for a VERY expensive plan to exit my 38 year membership with Wyndham. My husband and I are basically satisfied with Wyndham but scammed into supposedly suing Wyndham because we had purchased another 60,000 points although my husband is over 80 years old. The scammers said they would get us a big settlement because it is against the law to sell timeshares to very old people. Of course no legal action is being taken on our behalf but we can’t get the "100% money back guarantee" because we are breaking the agreement to not say anything against the exit company. Now what can I do?

When did this 60,000 point purchase actually occur? If it was extremely recent then you have "X" amount of days to rescind the purchase.

Now what can I do?

Just to clarify: You bought 60,000 Wyndham points at some time in the past. Then you paid an exit company to get out of the purchase. I assume the former took place long enough ago that the rescission rules are irrelevant. So the issue is the money paid to the exit company. How much?

1. Demand your money back based on the 100% money back guarantee. They may refuse, but it's worth a shot
2. Fully recognize that you are dealing with scammers. That means you deal with them like any other crook. That part of the contract that says you can't tell anybody about their criminal behavior is null and void. You don't enable crooks just because they tell you to. Report them to the attorney general etc as you would any other criminal.
3. The above assumes you paid them some money. How much? Is it enough to be worth the work of getting it back? Or is it going to be an expensive lesson? Assuming they are even in this country, they will likely be gone or changed their name etc. It's worth making the effort, but you should also be realistic about your chances.
4. If you are ready to get rid of our Wyndham account (and 60,000 points is pretty small, from what I have gathered), then give it away here in the free timeshare section. Or was that 60,000 more and you have a larger account? Whichever, you can get all the advice you need about getting rid of it here.

You haven’t broken any agreements because you haven’t posted their name. When did you sign the exit agreement? There should be a rescission timeframe. Don’t knock yourself down as these exit companies are professional liars. They are excellent at telling people what they want to hear in order to get the huge fee. They are thief’s/criminals as far as I am concerned. Doesn’t Wyndham have an exit solution themselves?

If you are outside the exit company’s rescission they will not refund you willingly. The threat about not refunding if you say something negative about the company is just a threat to stretch this out as long as possible. If it were me I would send them a letter demanding a refund and if not, you will notify your bank (if a credit card), the Attorney General, the BBB, Facebook groups, and your local TV watchdog.
