Good Morning.

I have owned this timeshare for over 10 years. I have never transferred into a diff property. I am sick of MB as that is the resort that is the closest to me. I can NEVER GET INTO HHI or Charleston. What is the secret? I googled HGV resorts and I see a kitty hawk come up but its not on the website to book when I login. What have I missed??

When do you try to book into other resorts, i.e. how far out? One can book as far as 276 days from checkout. Many locations are available much closer in, but some are harder to get. We don't go to HHI or Charleston, so I'm not familiar with their difficulty. But the earlier you can book, the better.

Cheers.

As @brp stated, the secret to booking Ocean Oak and Liberty Place is booking exactly when the booking window opens (276-days from check-out). We switched from MB to HHI when Ocean Oak opened in 2016 timeframe. We haven't looked back. It is one of our favorite resorts. I believe OO is one of the toughest (most in demand) in the HGVC system. It is close or maybe even harder than LT. I have been told by the GM at OO that it is booked 95% of the year. I believe that Liberty Place is similar but haven't tried to book there.

When are you trying to go?

@GT75 says above, Ocean Oak is very difficult to book. I managed to book 3 units over the last 2 years, but it was work for each one. To my familiy and I, it's well worth it. It's our favorite resort in the system. The front desk told me that they are 100% booked from Valentines Day through New Year's. He also said that 75% of the reservations are made by owners using their home weeks. It's very competitive.

We can occasionally score a few days at Ocean Oak on relatively short notice, but for a full week in an oceanfront room it definitely needs to be booked nine months out.

I like Liberty Place a lot, too. It's not as difficult to get into as Ocean Oak, but it's still booked out pretty far. I've already booked a week in January 2024 just to ensure it's locked in.
