Have anyone bought the voucher of Everglades Airboat Ride from gottahalfit.com

If so, can you please share your experience. Also, how do you like it

This is our first trip to Florida. We was told to try this airboat thing. I am not sure I would like it since I am allergic to insect bites and not fondly with very noisy sound . Thanks

:)

We took an airboat ride as part of an Everglades tour. It was outstanding--saw many alligators up close (almost too close!) and saw many beautiful birds. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Florida. It is noisy, but you are provided with ear muffs to deaden the sound. Which company is offering the voucher?

Do it! It's a lot of fun. Don't recall bugs being an issue (my wife could be in a crowd of a thousand people with one mosquito and she'd get bit). The gators must have their tails tied to trees because the guide knows exactly where they are. The fan that propels the boat is a bit noisy. Earplugs will do nicely.

I can't remember the name of the company but I doubt there's a lot of difference.

The voucher can be used at Sawgrass Recreation Park

Besides this airboat, can you please advise what other sight seeing must see in Miami/ Fl lauderdale or near by area . Thanks

we took a bus guided tour of the Miami area and it was really great because the traffic is heavy and it is hard to park. We also drove to two different places in Everglades national Park, we went to the homestead entrance, you can drive very far into the park and stop at the various boardwalks (bring some refreshments with you). You can go to Shark Valley on Hwy 41 and take the tram trip and then climb the tower to see the everglades. We enjoyed Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale, the beach, and there is a shopping district and marina that we missed, but everyone recommends. We would have liked to drive to Biscayne Bay too (we ran out of time)

And don't forget the fishing (either drift boats -cheap- or 1/2 day charters which get much cheaper when you are talking to the boat captain with some $20 45-30 minutes before they depart; normal price is $175-200pp).
Water Taxi ride in Ft Lauderdale or the Jungle Queen (do the dinner on the island). Sunset catamera rides off the coast.

Pompano Beach (north by 6 miles from Ft Lauderdale) is home base for the Goodyear Blimp; keep your eye peeled for it - mostly earlier AM or before sunset; usual route is south along the ocean towards Miami and then, north above the intercoastal waterway as a training/checkout ride for the crew and craft (no rides or tours I know of for the public).

Bonnet House is interesting. Been several times with different guests. Was a final stop on an early season of Amazing Race.

Airboats and alligators

We took an eco tour out of Fort Myers and did, everglades :) boat tour, driving tour, walking tour and airboat tour. The Airboat tour was so cool that we went back on our own, Airboats and alligators http://www.laketrafford.com/

It's betters to go in the winter when the alligator have to haul out to the shore to warm up, but there are plenty gators to see and wadig birds too.

I believe we took the same ecotour. It was outstanding--tour guide was very knowledgable and spoke both English & German (we had German tourists on our tour).
