The word is (finally) getting out - lets hope now that literally "the big guns" have taken notice that the post card companies/buy your timeshare/ timeshare resale scams will get nervous enough to close shop. This week's Gatehouse over at Insidethegate notes that the FBI has taken notice and is warning people to avoid these groups.
They are particularly warning about the "resale recovery" scams that have been mentioned here too many times as well. These are groups that claim to be able to get your money back from the scam opearions when in fact they are the same place hitting you up for even MORE wasted fees.
Also "Looks too good to be true" has a whole section on timeshare resale frauds. We (and they) can't say it too often - Don't pay upfront fees to anyone when it comes to your timeshare. Do the work yourself and be sure it is actually and legally deeded to a new, willing taker. NEVER deal with "timeshare relief" companies as their plans for the ownership may leave YOU exposed long after you paid them and thought you were done. Don't risk it.
You don't want the FBI contacting YOU after they close these scam operations down.
