Europe's most dangerous cities as viewed by their own citizens

Saw the same thing in my feed yesterday. You seem to be a Europe centric individual. What do you make of this post. Accurate? What is up in the UK?

Crime is becoming more of a problem in western Europe, and the statistics show it is not the native Europeans committing most of them. That is generally less of a problem in eastern Europe. Knife crime in countries like the UK, Germany, France, and some others is rampant. Trains, which used to be very safe, no longer are. Rail unions in a number of countries including Germany, France, and Italy have been warning of the huge increase in crime on trains and in stations.

Paris and Rome are our favorite cities to visit and to walked the streets .

I have traveled by train in most European countries, with Finland, Liechtenstein, Albania, and Andorra being the sole exceptions, and it has always in the past been a very safe and comfortable way to travel. In the last few years that has sadly been changing in much of western Europe. Now the rail unions in some countries are even advising caution due to rising crime, which their own members are also victims of on trains and in stations.

Here are a couple of recent examples of tourists being victims of crime on trains or in stations:

A New York tourist boarding a train in Milan, Italy, robbed of his luggage and other items at knife point and stabbed in the neck:

A 19 year old male Czech tourist robbed and raped at knife point by two 15 year old thugs at the train station in Dresden, Germany:

I have travelled all over both Germany and Italy by train and never encountered a situation where I felt I was in any danger. Now the rail unions in both countries are openly warning of crime on trains, and the Italian rail union even went on strike over it. I have also personally been through the Milan and Dresden railway stations multiple times and considered both to be safe, but apparently not any more.
