What are Tuggers' opinions of the service of the European LCC's? The fares knock the socks off of airlines on this side of the pond, particularly some which try to call themselves LCC's here.

So far, I have flown:
EasyJet
Sky Europe
Ryan Air

I was happy with all of them, and would rank them in the order above.

I have not yet flown Air Berlin, Germanwings, Wizz Air, or BMI Baby, but have looked at their schedules for upcoming trips. I hope to try all of them in the not too distant future.

I have travelled with BMIBaby, Ryanair and Easyjet and Jet2 all have got me to my destination and back in reasonable comfort and in a timely fashion. My favourite is BMIBaby as they fly from my local airport (Nottingham East Midlands) but I am prepared to travel to Stansted/Manchester and Liverpool for a low fare if necessary. Ryanair have the best schedule IMHO.

I'm starting to put together a trip that may include Poland. Researching possible flights, Wizz Air may be the least expensive. Anyone with information or comments on Wizz Air?

I'm also trying to decipher the service fees to get an idea of the true cost:

Never used Wizz. The fees look pretty simple.
Book online, print your boarding pass yourself (or pay a big fee at the airport - same as Ryanair).
Checked bag fees which vary on mileage / flight duration.
The rest are add ons for getting from the airport - remember many LCCs in Europe use secondary airports but name them as the city you would like to think you are flying to, so pay attention to where you are landing as you need to get to the city you want to visit.

RyanAir would rename Long Island's McArthur to New York - McArthur and then leave the unwitting to realise they now have a 3 mile cab ride to the airport then an hour and 20 on a train to Penn Station.

Similarly, New York - White Plains would be a taxi, an IBus to Stamford then a train to NY taking another 2 hours!
