encore package cc charge date?

We bought an encore package November 2024 at WLR, went to KORN in June 2025 and bought enough points to bring in 2 resales...KORN staff were able to apply what we paid on the encore pkg to our purchase price. At that time, a return trip reservation in FEB 2026 has already been made.

Fast forward to December 2025, we went to WLR again, attend another meeting, they didn't mention anything about this encore pkg which the purchase $ had been "used up" and sold us another one...but its been two months and the CC I left on file has not been charged...

Adding another curveball is that we are here this week on this original encore return trip...meeting is Saturday morning...did they realize that we already had an somewhat "active" encore pkg and so didn't let us purchase another one? or it's just taking awhile?
 
Could be that they spotted that you already had one open so cancelled the second one. That does happen.
 
They will not allow you to have two open Encore packages at the same time. My experience has been that if they discover that you do, they will refund any monies paid on the second Encore package (to your credit card) and cancel it, and they won’t notify you, the only want you know it has happened is the credit on your card account statement.

At one time, it may have been possible to have an Encore-type package on the Vistana side and another on the MVC side, but not any more. About three years ago we were at Marriott Waikaloa and got talked into a package (not called an Encore package) that would have given several nights in any one of a whole list of mainland properties. Signed up, paid the downpayment, didn’t even think about the fact that I had an open Encore package with Vistana. Anyway, a week or two later the credit card charge for the downpayment was reversed. Never heard another word from them but I presume that they cancelled the package because of the open Encore I had with Vistana. I was disappointed as I’d already figured out how I was going to use it!

It would be a lot more customer-friendly if they sent a letter or email explaining that they’d cancelled the purchase and why, but they don’t. They just cancel it without notice.
 
Way way back they used to allow one open Encore per "region" (East, West, Hawaii)

If it was canceled, they would have refunded the admin fee (usually $99) that you have to pay up front. Did they do that?
 
that was never even charged on my card...hence I was wondering if they are just slow or it got out right cancelled...

Perhaps the person who sold it to you never entered it into their system correctly or at all. So maybe, even though you signed up, you were never signed up for the package.
 
well, just went thru the encore presentation....they were even more confused than I am...they couldn't find the encore pkg I bought in December 2025, but they still had my previous one that I used up back in June 2025, and was willing to let me apply the dollar amount onto a new purchase (which I already used)...
BTW, they would not let us buy another encore...sad face : )
