Elara, a Hilton Club

On a separate note, I just noticed there's a new Las Vegas resort that shows up: Cancun Las Vegas, a Hilton Vacation Club. It looks like its a Diamond Resort. I only own resale and not in MAX but it seems I could book it if I want (not that I would as it looks like it way south of the Strip and the pics look are not impressive).
Maybe HGV is including all of us Legacy HGVC members in HgvMax. Just kidding, I don't know what HGV IT is up to. I assume it is just a mistake. That resort certainly isn't going to entice me to join.

I stayed at the Cancun. My first and so far only Max reservation on the Diamond side. One of the buildings has been renovated and I was in it. I had a one week in a 2BR for under 3000 pts. It was a 75% off promotion. It was a self contained 2BR. Not a lockoff. Not as open of a floor plan as a HGVC resort which usually has kitchen, dining and living room.all visible to each other. The kitchen had its own room. Really could not see the kitchen or dining room from the living room. Bedrooms were ok. Had two bathrooms each with a huge tub. The second bedroom didn't match the description in the app. It had two single beds instead of a queen.

The unit was large. Resort area seemed ok. There was an odor in the hallways that I didn't care for...probably some scent they pump in or cleaning solution. I noticed it a bit in the unit and by the front desk area.

I would stay there again especially at that discount rate.

Diamond guys haven't been fully trained on how to do HGVC sales presentations. I was told that within 60 days all week-long stays are 50% off points. That may be true for Diamond owners. Guy tried to sell me Grand Waikikian platinum penthouse. I could tell he looked at my notes because I've been offered it recently on Oahu. When I said no he came back with ....get this.... six new years week one bedroom penthouses at boulevard....yes 6!!! He tried to frame it as a consolidation with no maintenance fee increases for ten years! Was interesting.

Cancun has dinners with entertainment on-site several nights per week. I could have brought six.to any one night but I declined.

I saw several shuttles at Cancun going to HGVC properties and the HVC Desert property.

If you've been to the outlet mall next to tahiti village. The Cancun is just a short ways past the outlets on las vegas Blvd away from the strip.

I stayed at the Cancun.
Thanks for your feedback. Some (maybe many) of us here are never planning on joining HgvMax. So, it is good to get honest feedback on how the program is actually working. Honestly, still glad to not have joined HgvMax. My hope is that the HVC/DRI side doesn't corrupt the HGVC side.

@muscae Thanks for sharing.

All, for those who are Legacy HGVC MAX owners, does the 60 day 50% benefit apply to your ownership of MAX? If so, is it only for DRI properties? or can you also secure HGVC properties at 50% off points at 60 days or less? If either were the case, that might be a value proposition for MAX.

We just did an owner update today at the Elara (as HGVC Legacy owners). At the start we bought from the developer and were Elite owners with HGVC. Now we only own resale properties, so the pitch was a bit different for us. We did learn today of a new software program that will be rolled out in a few weeks that only MAX members can access. It blows away the archaic program we’ve all been using the last few years. It alone made it tempting to upgrade to MAX. Other than that, there’s a handful of small perks to joining MAX, but certainly not for accessing DRI properties.

By the way…..the Penthouse units on the top floors are going to be awesome and will be equal to city points. 32 to 1 ratio. Diamond lounge on top floor accessible only to those owners.

I will believe that line when I see it.

LOL. Were the Sales Person's Lips moving?

We saw the program and how advanced it was. We maneuvered through it. It wasn’t BS.

I have no problem using what we currently have, please elaborate on how it's "advanced".

If it's truly that great we will eventually get it, I can't see them supporting two separate versions of a reservation system.

I'm curious to see how the new platform differs from the existing one, as well. This is the first I've heard of it.

If anyone finds Elara bHC resale deeds in the wild, please PM me! I want to start tracking what these go for but they're so new I haven't encountered any yet.

If anyone finds Elara bHC resale deeds in the wild
I will be very surprised if you see any for a couple of years. After all, Elara bHC can not even be booked yet.

I suspect Elara bHC resale deeds will be hard to encounter for a while for a number of reasons, Chief among them 1) there simply aren't that many of them in the grand scheme of things, and 2) their high retail price point typically means the folks who buy them have the means to buy them and tend to hang on to them for a while.

Anyone have an idea how much The Elara Club not the regular Elars prices are going for? For those that have toured, did they get info on the owners lounge?

1 Bedroom Premier (1BX, 20,160) Annual Platinum deeds are over $100k. 2 Bedroom Premier (2BX, 23,040) Annual Platinums are a little higher, almost $130k.

I was last there for an update in February 2023, and the owner's lounge didn't come up, although an operating budget for it beginning in 2024 does appear in the Elara, a Hilton Club documents.

I've been looking to see what these deeds will go for on the resale market, but haven't found any yet. Based on rarity, season, and point structure, comparing it with bHC deeds of other locations with similar traits, I'm thinking 1BXs might go in the ~$40-45k range resale, 2BXs maybe ~$45-50k, what does everything think?

I think that your estimates for the first resales to hit the resale market will be pretty close but still a few years away. I remember when GI hit the resale market, they were also sky high. You will need to wait for a several more years for the resale market to come down from the clouds.

Managed to get a tour of the 58th floor 1BR unit as well as a studio unit earlier this week. I was impressed with the 1BR. Very nice and seemed to be better appointed than the regular Elara units we’ve stayed at before.

The finishes are excellent, although the appliances are still fairly standard and not what I would consider a luxury level.

The studio didn’t impress me as much and seemed to be similar to the regular Elara units, aside from the shower.

what is the difference between units on 50-55 and on 56 floor

I am not an owner but I am visiting Vegas in a couple of weeks and was looking to book the regular Hilton Grand Vacations Club Elara Center Strip Las Vegas, but then I saw “coming soon” bookings available beginning November 1st for Hilton Club Elara Las Vegas. I was able to book a premium 1BR suite for the 2nd week in November . The pictures were breathtaking so I can’t wait to see in person. When I called the front desk the rep I got didn’t seem to know the difference between the two or if this was a new property. I’m excited to be one of the first few guests, but also kind of apprehensive that I can’t find any information about the renovations/new property online. I literally found this forum by googling “Hilton Club Elara Las Vegas Renovations”

Are you sure? I don't see any Elara, a Hilton Club in November or December. I do see it in January 2024. The "premier" units at Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club are on the 56th floor. I see then in November. These are different than the Elara, a Hilton Club units.
