Elara a Hilton Club, Versus Elara a HGVC

DH stayed in Elara Club recently for a conference. Very nice 1 bdrm on airport side - no balcony (but no time to use anyway). Similar to W57, the water for the bathtub fills from the ceiling. Also a Toto toilet. No dining table. Only dining is at the bar shown below. However this is Vegas with plenty of dining options.

Nice to have separate washer and dryer unlike lower floors which have those funky combo units that do not work. There is a shared washing machine room near the fitness center on the 4th floor if you don't want to use the combo units in the room. We did not know those were available until this trip.

They were out of wristband keys confirming that this may be phasing out. Last fall, they had plenty of wristbands. Members have white key cards and non-HGVC have blue.

The Starbucks in the lobby is being remodeled. No presentation this trip.

They had a member appreciation hour with free croissants and coffee on Friday mornings and coffee tasting on Weds. This seems new and a nice touch.

DH wasn't able to attend on Wed but left the Fri meetup after 15 minutes to return to work. AFAIK no presentation or pressure from anyone. Of course there were HGVC people there who were happy to answer questions. ;)

Overall a nice unit: recommend.

We noticed as well when we checked in for the Elara HC rooms that there was zero pressure from the check-in attendant to stop by and speak with the sales vultures. In fact they didn't even mention it.

Glad to hear it. We will be in the Club next week!

A lot of it I think has to do with how far removed the Elara HC checkin is from the Elara HGV checkin. At the HGV checkin counter you are under the watchful eye of Happy Clipboard Lady throughout the process (and she knows precisely when to strike!), whereas with the Elara HC checkin you are all the way down at the other end of the counter and it's more difficult for them to keep an eye on who's coming and going from there, particularly during busier times in the lobby, since you can blend in with the crowd walking in from the mall.

Agree. You check in at a separate room for the club rooms. My DH went to the regular counter at first and waited in the Elite line, was confronted by Happy Clipboard peeps who noted that his spouse was not with him so he could not be offered a presentation. However he still got 500 honor point and the discount card at the concierge. :)

He then was directed to correct bHC check-in counter which is in a separate room.

He was also offered daily room service. Wasn't sure if daily housekeeping is standard on the club level or if this was considered "mid-week clean" because he was only there for 2 nights.

I think bHC units offer daily housekeeping. We opted for midweek cleaning only at Elara HC because we didn't need daily, but in our last stay at Liberty Place we weren't asked which we preferred and got daily housekeeping, anyway.

I've attached the Elara, a Hilton Club floor 58 & 59 layouts provided in our April 2023 closing documents. As you can see the layouts are the same.
last week… I had a room booked for my niece in the “club“ section of the Elara - it came with a balcony! I can see from the .pdf, the balconies face south - but the .pdf does not confirm the verbiage - just the graphics show what appears to be a balcony. Her husband didn’t want the room, and opted for a 2BR in the regular Elara.

Second stay at Elara Hilton Club last week - painless check-in and zero pressure from the check-in staff or the sales vultures to stop by for an "update" - no being accosted in the lobby immediately upon check-in, no phone calls to the room, no hangtags on the door. Just an enjoyable stay.

We are visiting next month. Was the owner’s lounge open?

No, according to the owners update it's expected to open sometime mid-2024, so if visiting next month there's potential it might be open by then. I wouldn't bank on it until mid-July.

I spoke with one of the lobby bartenders who worked a HGV corporate event in the owners lounge in April, and he said the lounge is decent but on the smaller side and could be more "posh" in keeping with the amenities of the suites on the Club floors. He said the furniture was cheap feeling, and at least initially the lounge will offer light bites in the morning and evening, and soda/wine during evening hours. Sounds in keeping with other Club lounges but I'll let others with more experience weigh in on that.

Does anyone know if the Hilton Club Elara is a resort property that will trigger the Amex credit? It appears Elara, HGVC is listed as a resort property, but I don’t see the Hilton Club listed.

My wife and I stayed in Rm 6007 (1BX) a couple of weeks ago . We enjoyed sitting on the balcony outdoor sectional every morning watching the Strip wake up and the Sphere images changing.

We stayed in an Elara HC suite and charged the lobby bar drinks to our room. Fairly certain we received the Amex credit.

As Elara bHC owners we received two $40 credits per day because the lounge hasn’t opened yet. The credits appeared on our hotel bill if our resort purchases were charged to our room. A couple of days we were over $40 but under $80 so we only received one $40 credit each day that occurred. By the way, the convenience shop in the Elara lobby is managed by a third party and will not allow room charges.

We signed up for Amex Aspire in Dec 2023 believing we could receive the $200 semi annual credit for our MF. We payed half of our Elara bHC MF in Dec but unfortunately didn’t receive the credit. Unfortunately Elara bHC is not on the list of resorts that would qualify for the credit. In March 2024 we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria-Orlando, which was on the list. We charged the stay to our Amex Aspire and received the $200 credit on our Amex Aspire bill.

AFAIK Elara regular (lower floors 4 - 56) should receive the credit. It is listed under the "Resorts" filter - but bHC Elara not. Too new?

The list of resorts for the Aspire stay credit on HH is very confusing.

I’m currently in the EbHC room #5831*, open balcony. I’ve stayed in the Elara HGVC in the pink atrium (catwalk). I was hoping for an open balcony - we did. I tried checked in a 10AM, and was told by the bHC agent that none of the rooms in my category had been cleaned. She would text to say when I would be able to checkin. I was too early and that’s on me. I got the text the room was already assigned just before 3pm. We were out visiting local family and I had told them, no need for a text as we would return around 9PM. When I walked thru the EMPTY lobby at 9PM, i was attacked by the Clipboard lady, “WHAT’S your name?” No greeting at all. Picked up my room keys and was given a card to see the concierge. We went straight to our room. All the black-out shades were closed (both bedrooms and living area) which I thought was odd. A day later and I ran into 6 SA giving tours of the 2BX unit next door to me. Open to sell you something, but not available for me and my request to early checkin.

I stopped by the “concierge” or OU bookers, and He started with a 3 day stay - no thank you, to a $200 CC - no thank your, to 100K HH - no thank you, but if you can offer me 120K HH - I would love to sit for 60 minutes and chat - I AIN’T BUYING NOTHING! A night at a Waldorf Astoria is worth me sitting down for a chat. He did not hesitate and picked up the phone, and met my offer. Should I have asked for 150K??? I’m going to digress - the concierge at The Quin pulled out a printed email stating 100K and would not meet my minimum, and he seemed disinterested in trying to meet my request.

I want a tour of the room 5832 that all of 6 of the SA used for their tours, and I glance at the owner’s lounge on the 57th floor. Has anyone been on such a tour at the Elara bHC?

Here’s a post from other thread - the room is awesome!
