Hello! I own a 4 bedroom at Elara in Las Vegas. I've mostly rented it out since I've owned it, but I'm wondering how good the exchange value is if I deposit it into Interval International. Have any of you exchanged your Elara timeshare and if so, how easy was it to get the resort you wanted and the dates you wanted? Did you have to wait a long time to get the exchange? I appreciate any and all comments. Thank you.

I suspect this is actually a Westgate deeded week? If so, there may be special rules where you can get a lot of exchanges when you deposit these. Someone posted about this a long time ago, so not sure if it is something I could easily find. I am also not sure if Westgate could really give you any details about it.

II is good but thirdhome may be better for this type of unit. esp if its deeded or can be reserved for a holiday week

Here's a post where I see the 2 for 1 mentioned regarding exchanging these in the Westgate system. I don't really know how it works but perhaps reach out to that poster. You won't find a lot of Westgate owners around TUG.

Yes, I can get 2 weeks for my Elara 4 bedroom if I exchange within Westgate.
But doesn't your four bedroom really consist of multiple smaller units as part of a lock off? If so, you may be able to get more than 2 weeks by exchanging the smaller parts within Westgate. Perhaps up to 4 or even 8 exchanges?

This isn't necessarily about II, but something I think you should know as a previous Planet Hollywood owner:

One thing to remember is that for Elara (previously Planet Hollywood) owners exchanging into another Westgate property, you actually get double benefits, meaning you can double what you own. I'm not 100% sure if you can double either your time or your unit, but it's at least one of those.

This also applies to Las Vegas Resorts and Park City Ski Season owners (although Park City Ski season owners should never do that).

This is not something they really talk about much, but definitely inquire by calling Westgate's reservation line. If they don't know what you're talking about, they need to reach out to management because they should know. Ask them to explain the double benefits pertaining to your account.

Double benefits is simple. If you're trying to book 4 weeks, you can double that to 8 weeks. If you're trying to double the unit size, you could book a 1-bedroom and upgrade it to a 2-bedroom. The only thing about double benefits is that you have to relinquish the entire unit for that usage year, meaning you wouldn't be able to use it @ Elara for that particular year. You may also be able to do the same when exchanging into II, but I'm a bit rusty on this so I recommend checking with the reservations team to confirm.

I do get 2 weeks for every one week I have for the Elara in the Westgate system. It's broken down into a 2 bedroom, one bedroom, and a studio, so 6 weeks total. Problem is I don't want to visit most of the places in the Westgate system. I like the Caribbean better.

Yes, but you also may be able to get double benefits when you exchange it through II. Again I'm not 100% as that may only apply to Las Vegas/Park City Ski season, but it doesn't hurt to check. Would be much better than doing it through Elara where you'll only get your unit in value
