I just noticed the Ebay timeshare auction volume is now down under 900 listings. Last summer it was close to 2000. Any thoughts?

I dunno, but...

I just noticed the Ebay timeshare auction volume is now down under 900 listings. Last summer it was close to 2000. Any thoughts?

With approaching holidays, plus approaching (and /or already-arriving) maintenance fee bills, this would certainly not seem to be optimum timing to try be selling (...or even giving away) timeshares onh eBay.

In my limited periodic observations, the eBay listings figure is generally around 1,000 - 1,200. Accordingly, I'm not sure that 900 is unusually low; the previous 2,000 may instead have been unusually high...

Last Xmas it was over 3,000. Usually it is around 1,000 listings. I am curious to see where the inventory will go this Xmas, I am hoping for some good bargains.

I've had similar thoughts about the eBay volumes, over the past few weeks. It will be interesting to see if things pick up between now and XMAS.

Savvy TUG Buyers Have Been Snapping Them Up.

Any thoughts?
The eBay timeshare offerings are not all dogs & cats.

Among all those eBay timeshares offered at $1 (no reserve), there are plenty of bargains on nice units at good resorts.

I'm guessing the TUG bargain hunters have been adding lots of those to their portfolios.

Full Disclosure: We bought 2 eBay triennial points timeshares last year -- 1 dinky & 1 semi-dinky. This year we bought an eBay non-dinky triennial points timeshare. We got the dinky 1 for about $163. Semi-dinky, $205. Non-dinky, $105. (Not claiming those purchases necessarily qualify us as Savvy TUG Buyers. They're just our 2010-2011 eBay timeshare buying history. They are what they are.)

So Alan, do all three MF's come due at the same time? I was like you I never knew the non-dinky existed until you snatched one, way to go. I have only the semi-dinky (24K points). :p

Bills, Bills, Bills !

Got the bill for the semi-dinky triennial this week -- due in January 2012.

Will receive the bill for the dinky triennial next year -- due in January 2013. (Let me know if you would like to have that 1 el freebo. It generates 18,500 points annually & you get next year's points free.)

Won't get the bill for the non-dinky triennial till 2013 -- due in January 2014.

So by sheer dumb luck, we managed to snag 3 triennial points units, from 3 separate eBay sellers, with 3 different use-year cycles. Who'd a-thunk?

Maintenance fee amounts are all the same irrespective of dinkiness or lack thereof.
