Ebay purchase with free week

Hello,

I purchased a week on eBay. It was advertised as Free 2022 usage. The transfer of ownership finally completed and I called the resort to make a reservation but was told that the previous owner already made the reservation and deposited into their II account. What can be done to remedy this situation?

Contact the seller. See what they can do or offer. Did you have a contract and did that state the 2022 usage?

Free usage could just mean they paid the maintenance fees for 2022 depending on how you interpret "free usage." Someone could have copied and pasted a timeshare description from some other listing and not checked if the usage was available. Someone may have deposited the week thinking it would transfer with the sale. Sometimes the actual owner is not the person selling these on eBay. There are many potential potholes with timeshare sales.

This happened to me a few years back. The seller would not do anything. I contacted the Missouri Attorney General, the seller's state, and he is still following up on it. It was supposed to come with the free use year plus an extra $200 on closing. I still hear from the Attorney General's office.

Seller responded nicely and will let me use the 2022 week by utilizing guest certificate. I was wondering if those exchange companies would let members transfer weeks or points upon transfer of ownership. Thanks everyone for responding...

Hintok, I am so sorry your seller was so irresponsible. Hopefully you are enjoying your timeshare at least and hope the AG can help you get it straightened out.

Thank you, It was a Sheraton Desert Oasis Annual 2 bedroom and I don't regret purchasing it.

It wouldn't be unusual that the week had been deposited to ii or rci, but ideally the seller would make this known.
