Just bought our timeshare from CJ Timeshares. From bidding (with no Ebay experience) to RCI Points Account took 29 days. Wonderful customer service provided by Adan Sanders. :)

That's nice, but I see their closing costs are high compared to if you choose your own company. So I won't bid on their auctions.

CJ Timeshares also has auctions with no or lower closing costs. Besides, just figure closing costs into your maximum bid amount. The amount of the closing costs need not discourage you from bidding at all.

My bid was $3.25 + $100 Resort Transfer Fee + $222 RCI Transfer Fee + $485 Maintenance Fee (2012) for a total 100,600 Points (50,300 Annual). I agree it all depends on the auction but based on the information and advice that I have received here I believe that I got an excellent buy with excellent customer service. At least for now I am one happy customer. :)

There closing cost are high but if you dont agree to use their closing company and pay their fees, you dont get what they are selling. Your choice of course but it seems to me you will miss a lot of good deals cutting them off.

As beefnot has already pointed out: decide what you are willing to pay in total, deduct the closing costs and bid accordingly.and I will add; use a sniping service to place your bid in the last seconds.

I cant tell you how many good deals Ive missed because I was too cheap.

My first deal was with CJ too. Its a good thing when your first time is with someone that you can respect when its over..and with CJ you can

I purchased from them back in September. From the close on the bid to being entered in the system at Starwood it was about 20 days.

I paid no closing cost.

If I buy any more, I can get the one I want elsewhere for less than his closing fee alone. So I guess it all depends on the resort/points etc. If you are happy, I am happy. For now, I'm laying low and just looking at renting.

Usually when CJ has an auction that doesn't sell they start too drop the
Price of the closing. I bought my first one through them and I would buy from
Them again if the price is right. I have also bought from others and did get a
Better price. You have to keep watching and know what the unit you want is
Going for.

I bought my first TS from laman34. There was a mistake in the listing but they were very good abt working it out to my satisfaction. I bought 1 week EYO but ended up with 2 weeks EYO. They gave me the option of backing out. It turns out that that "mistake" actually worked out great for me!! If I am correct, 43namal, pricelessvacations and laman34 are all part of CJ.

I bought my 2nd timeshare from pricelessvacations. It went fine.

In both cases I thought that the closing went a bit slower than I had hoped but maybe I had optimistic expectations. When I would regularly call to check on things, the people at Laman and Namal and the closing service were patient and helpful. Bottom-line, I ended up a happy customer.

So - - two thumbs up!

They had a huge mistake in my listing. They advertised it as a regular two bedroom. I didn't learn until a couple months after it closed that it was actually a lockoff to my surprise. A quick, professional closing experience, topped off by turbocharging my ownership with a lockoff.

CJ

bought from them before and will again if I find a good deal. Easy to deal with if there are problems, not like some other ebay sellers.

Got a good deal on one of their auctions yesterday for my brother. Payment was really easy with cc or paypal. Will have to see how closing goes. It was a good deal for $1 plus closing and 2012/13 MF reimbursement

I'm extremely happy with my experience with them so far. I bought a Sheraton Broadway Plantation unit from CJ that I paid for on 10/19 and I got a letter from Starwood yesterday (11/6) saying that it is in their system and that I can create my account online. A little over two weeks for the entire process...I thought it was going to take months.

They filed this deed electronically with the county supposedly which is probably why everything happened so quickly.

CJ timeshares

Hi everybody,
Brand new to TUG...so if my questions are dumb, please forgive!!
We are looking to buy into RCI points and have checked multiple resale companies.
Then we checked out what was on Ebay....
126K RCI pts for a starting bid of $997, about $900 annual maintenance fee---No reserve- posted by CJ timeshares.

From what we understand from the postings, most people have had good experiences with them.
Considering that No Reserve actually means No Reserve, we are bidding on this deal.

My questions are:
1 --- How is there such a difference between Ebay pricing and the timeshare resale companies??? It makes us nervous!!
2 --- How will the resort's Right of First Refusal affect this...considering that we may get this around $1,000?

Thanks for any help or reassurance that we are not setting ourselves up for being taken advantage of!!

Most ebay sellers, AKA known as PCC guys have collected several thousands of dollars up front from desperate seller.. So they have money in the bank, just get rid of TS ASAP so no MF and maximize profit! Many happy campers here who bought from 99-100% rated sellers.

Resellers/brokers typically have $500-$1,000 minimum commission/profit or say 10-20% of selling price.

Also, many resale scammers who have collected up front fee to sell at impossible price and just advertise to make contract legal.

For the most part resale ownership is the same no matter who you buy from. Ideally you name closing company but most ebay resellers have incestuous relationship with their designated one and no choice.

Seller should have pretty good idea where ROFR will kick in, but up to Developer/ Resort!

CJ works for me

Most of the timeshares I have purchased have been from CJ timeshares, I really like working with them. In many of their auctions there is little or no closing fee. The more desirable the timeshare the more likely the closing fees. I really like their website though where they list out much of their inventory...and if there is something you are looking for just tell them and they will find it. I have also found with CJ it never hurts to offer them what you are willing to pay. They listed a timeshare for 1500 plus closing costs. I offered them 300...they sold it to me...and that included the closing fees. So CJ is pretty great company at least for me.

I have also been very happy with CJ. I have found them knowledgeable and good to work with and if there has been a problem..the problem is quickly resolved. I would highly recommend them. On my purchases I have not found their fees high and if I do pay a little more than with other resellers I know that the purchase and transfer will be handled well.:)

Unhappy with CJTimeshare experience

As promised, here is my experience with CJ Timeshares....
I bought an RCI timshare worth 123,000 pts off of Ebay for about $1000 plus closing costs, maintenance fees, etc totalling $2137. Overall I was pleased.

A week or two later, I got a phone call from CJTimeshares stating that the purchase could not be completed due to the unit posted and sold to me was not transferrable as it was a Crown Club deal.
I was curious how they did not check that possibility out prior to posting it for sale. At that point, I was not interested and had requested a refund made to my account.
Instead of a refund, I kept receiving calls with additional options to purchase in place of the one they messed up and had for sale. I repeatedly asked them to refund the money and I would consider another timeshare purchase in the future.

Well, I waited another week or two and nothing happended. When I called them back, they told me they where still looking for replacements but were aware that I wanted to proceed with the refund. Ugh!!

The refund is just now in progress. After I had to be connected with a title company who then sent me documents to sign, taking the incorrect timeshare out of my name.....which then needed official notarizations!!
I have been told that they would attempt to refund the money through my PayPal account but sometimes it "doesn't go through if it has been too long since the purchase"..... in that case, the "check will be in the mail". Still waiting.
I didn't have to go through all that to buy it in the first place.

Overall, not happy with this particular resale company. Maybe this was an unusual case with them...we'll see when I finally get the refund.
Thanks for your advice though :)
