Hi
I am due to renew my passport. So I found this site Easy USA Passport. Supposed to be of assistance to renew passport.
I filled out the form and stupidly paid with my credit card( I thought it was the renewal fee) They sent me a confirmation and wanted more info SS# that’s when I grew suspicious. I didn’t provide my SS to them. My husband found complaints on line that they are scammers , who take your money and you never hear from them again.
I called credit card co. And they will take the charge off. Just want to warn others of this scam and of my stupid mistake.
I am going to send renewal application to the proper address when I get passport photo taken.

Thanks for sharing the warning!

Just an update, I got a response from Easy USA passport after I emailed and voice mailed them. They canceled my charge and it’s resolved. I felt better after I checked with my credit card and no charge is on my account.

DW found that she'd been hoodwinked into paying a reservation fee to a travel agency which passed itself off as an "official" booking service for a hotel that she could'a booked for free... if she'd managed to find the hotel's actual website,
Fortunately, it was a small amount, but sheesh,

Its easy to be hornswoggled by a site which, scammer or not, collects $$ for doing nothing more than that you could do yourself, for free,

Same thing happened to me. I thought I was at the DMV website renewing a car registration. I got as far as submitting the payment when I noticed an extra $15.00 charge. I closed the window without submitting the payment. The charge showed as pending for 3 days on my CC but it finally was removed. I later got an email from the sites operator saying that it couldn't process my request because the car was already registered. I found the right site immediately after I closed the window and renewed the registration. Always be careful when you use a search to find a site as opposed to manually typing in the address.
