I believe when DVC first started selling OKW, owners got a FREE annual pass. This and the more recent change noted by @ljmiii also demonstrate that the Mouse can give or take away any perks not stated in the contract at any time for any reason.

We've owned OKW for 27 years (175 points). It is still our favorite. I just modified a five night stay - Mon through Sat - in October 2025 for Food & Wine Festival. I used 146 points for a one bedroom villa. 150 points won't get you much unless you want to go in January, Sept, early Dec. Fri and Sat nights are more points than Sun through Thursday. OKW is a point saver resort to book, except for maybe the FW Cabins. But no W/D, no king bed. We used a bundle for two nights at Riviera (wanted to try it once and wasn't that fond of it) and a lot at AKV-Kidani for a one bedroom Savanna view. If you can't get a savanna view villa at AKV, we consider it a waste of points. Porte Cochere view is not the best use of points. We also hate the lack of a separate shower at Jambo House in the one bedroom villas. Only combo tub/shower.

We originally had 500 points with four additional contracts at BCV, VWL and OKW (2). We sold all of them since we didn't need them any more. Resales on OKW are still more than we paid for our original points, so we'll keep them a while longer.

If you want to buy points at one resort, book there at 11 months out. Then see if you can change to another resort at 7 months out. More than likely you will need fewer or more points to modify that reservation. And if you borrowed, you cannot unborrow them. Same with banking.

....

1. I’d buy SSR in preference to OKW. The villas at OKW are the largest, but there are only 2 queen beds in the studios, very few of the buildings (all 3 stories) have elevators, and in many of the 1BR the only entry to the bathroom is through the bedroom. Both OKW and SSR have boats to Disney Springs, and you can walk to DS from both, but the walkway from OKW to DS isn’t usable after dark.

...
There are a few two story villas, but most are three story villas (other than the second floor of some GVs). Where a Grand Villa starts on the second floor, the upper floor of the GV is only accessible via the inside stairs. The two upper bedrooms of the GV are different sizes. One has two queens, the other two doubles. They couldn't fit two queens in the smaller bedroom.

Two real queen beds instead of a murphy bed or fold out, are preferable to lots of older people. We each get our own bed.

There are seven different configurations at OKW. I have assigned a letter designation to each type described below (these are my own observations and are NOT official.) All room rooms are numbered from right to left as you look at the building from the parking area. Each floor will be numbered by building number, floor and room. The studio on the lower right first floor of building 16 is #1610. The 1BR next door is #1611.

GV's are found in Buildings 15,16,19,22,25,29,43,48,49,51,53 and 63.
Buildings 62, 63 and 64 all have elevators but no other Buildings are accessible above the ground floor.
As of June 1, 2007 - all WDW resorts are smoke-free with no smoking allowed in rooms, balconies, and patios as well all public areas. There will be designated smoking areas available outdoors.

All of the following descriptions are listed from right to left, as you face the building from the parking area.

Type A buildings are all 3 stories.
1st Floor- S,1,2,2,2,1,S
2nd Floor- S,1,2,2,2,1,S
3rd Floor- 2,2,2
Buildings 13,20,21,23,26,27,28,32,33,34,36,37,39,41,42,45,46 ,47,50,52,54,56 and 62 are all Type A.

Type B buildings are all 2 stories.
1st Floor- S,1,2,1,S
2nd Floor- S,1,2,1,S
Buildings 11,17,24,30,31,40,44 and 55 are all Type B.

Type C buildings are all 3 stories.

3rd Floor- GV, GV (upper floors)
Buildings 15,16 19,22,25,29,43,49,51,53 and 63 are all Type C.

Type D buildings are all 3 stories.

2nd Floor- 2,1,S,S,1 1 S,S,1,2
3rd Floor- 1,S,S,1 1 S,S,1
Buildings 14,18,35 and 38 are all Type D.

Type E- #49 is a 3 story building.
1st Floor- S,1,2,2,2,1,S
2nd Floor- S,1,GV,GV,GV,1,S
3rd Floor- GV,GV,GV (upper floor of all)

Building 48 and 49 are the only Type E buildings and each has a variant configuration.

TypeF is a 3 story building.
1st Floor- S,1,2,2,1,S,1,S
2nd Floor- S,1,2,2,1,S,1,S
3rd Floor- S,1,2,2

It was for OKW through the end of the decade (99) for those that bought in before a cutoff date. It also included VB purchases in some cases although I think the purchase cutoff was a year earlier (? 95 vs 96 for OKW). As noted, for up to half the occupancy of the villa. The was a big bruh ha ha about whether borrowed points would get the LOS passes. Initially they said no but the POS did not specify so they had to change their answer. Also, it was not day of arrival AND day of departure but one or the other.
