We approach our Starwood membership different then most of the other Starwood members here on tug. We own Kierland for the lower mf and buy in cost and use the SO to our advantage. We don't mind not having OF rooms on top floor locations. We like to stay at nice resorts, with nice amenities, in great locations.

I do think that those owners who own at the higher tier resorts have the biggest axe to grind. High buy in cost, high mf, limited and not equal exchange possibilites. We have used our units to pay for our yearly MFs and still take nice trips.

No problem. The cheapest set of points is Vero Beach Club for about $55 a point. Not too far from what you are looking for. It's sort of the Sheraton Desert Oasis of DVC. Nice place to stay and great to "trade" or use points for without spending hefty $$. Two passed ROFR last year for that price.

As for the "off the cuff" remark, remember no executive from anywhere ever makes major comments "off the cuff" because they will be quoted (and splashed all over the papers and internet) within seconds. If he said it, I bet they are looking or already are in negotiations for land. Disney doesn't just yap (nor do other Fortune 500 executives -- their jobs ride on discretion).

K

I own at VB and the MF's there are very high(much higher than the MF's at the WDW), but the cost per point is lower than the WDW resorts. If you want to stay at WDW I would buy one of the DVC's there, we only use our VB points for VB. Plus if you want to go at busy times of the year to WDW you won't be able to book until 7 months.

We love our DVC points, we've stayed at VWL and just got back from the BCV(long MLK weekend trip).
