We are having a difficult time getting to our timeshare in Puerto Plata. Charters have quit flying there so we have to spend the night in Atlanta just to get there, which is a huge hassle. What would happen if we just quit paying our maintenance fees and let it go?

Your unit will be foreclosed, and your credit rating will take a hit, and you will be harrassed by creditors.

Try to give it away or deed back to resort. Or you can bank with your exchange company and go somewhere closer to home.
