Does the Marriott purchase of Welk give me options?

We own an EoY, summer, studio at RedWolf at Squaw Valley. I'd very much like to get rid of it, and OFC they won't take it back. Last I looked, the rare offers to tsfr for free went un-answered.
Much of the issue, IMO, is that MFs at that resort are independent of unit size - we pay as much as a 2Bdrm does, which is dumb.

I just noticed on the forum that Marriott bought (is buying?) Welk, and that they own RedWolf (I thought it was GrandPacific. A subsidiary, perhaps?)
We also own at Marriott, and are keeping those.

Does the purchase give me options for getting out of this? Have they issued buy backs or anything?

Nada. Red Wolf is not one of Welk's locations. The acquisition is to bring Welk under Hyatt timeshare umbrella and rename Welk resorts as Hyatt's.

TUG has a Free Timeshare Giveaway section. Why not just give it away and avoid any harassment or credit issues?

The option is there for you if you want to at least give it a try. Who knows, someone may want to take it off your hands as long as it is mortgage free. No harm in trying.
