Does RHC allow partial rental?

I know RHC allows rentals and will provide a free guest cert, but if I got 4 nights in, say, NYC, can I rent out just two of them and use the other two? thanks

Don't know if you can rent out the partial reservation that you will not be using, but this is what we did when were presented a similar situation in which we didn't our whole reserved time.

We used the first four days of our seven day reservation. Then our friends flew in to take the balance of the seven day reservation. They did not go to the check-in desk to register but to pick up the envelope of keys and other resort related information that permitted them to use the balance.

When they checked out, anything and everything that they used that cost money was charged to my credit card. A few phone calls was what was charged.

Now, in your situation you are talking about renting out the rest of the days you don't use to perfect strangers. I'm sure there is a way to insure that you don't get whacked for the renter's costs incurred after you have vacated the resort, but it will probably be very messy; when you leave you take the renter and have the renter use his credit card for expenses he incur and the resort settles up with your portion of the expenses.

Is this really a good idea?

Anyone can use your RHC points - you just need to tell them who will be receiving the keys.

Unfortunately you may find yourself intermediating between the hotel, RHC and your renters (make sure they pay in advance) - many a time I have arrive at my destination: and RHC has not pre-sent me my check in information which should be presented at the hotel - sometimes the hotel doesn´t have it either . . so . . . .if you are "selling" your space .. better be prepared to do some work or know how to handle angry clients ! On several occasions check in has been slow due to this problem.

But worse... review your RHC prices because nowadays your "renters" may be able to obtain better prices than you offered / they paid via the internet. So they might be "miffed" to find this out later.

Just my two fins worth !

Just noted that you two guys registered to TUG on the same day - same year.

That's because that is the day this BBS switched to the new software. So, everyone who had previously been a user had to re-register, and we all did in the couple of days on or after June 6, 2005.
